At Yardzen, we believe people are at their best when they’re outside.
Our mission is simple: help people complete the outdoor spaces of their dreams. We start with design and stay with the project through the build, pairing homeowners with a dedicated representative who guides cost and design tradeoffs, matches them with multiple vetted local contractors, makes sense of the estimates, and helps them confidently hire the right one. The result is a finished yard, not just a plan. Since our launch in 2018, we've helped tens of thousands of homeowners transform their outdoor spaces, make sustainable choices, enhance property value, and enjoy life outdoors.
We're transforming the $200 billion outdoor renovation industry with AI, data, and technology, making design effortless and the build clear, guided, and far less daunting from first idea to finished space. Recognized as Fast Company's Most Innovative and named to Inc. Magazine's Best Places to Work, our work has been featured in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Sunset Magazine, House Beautiful, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes. And we're just getting started.
Yardzen is hiring a hands-on Brand Marketing Manager to help grow brand awareness, tell our stories, and create new ways for homeowners and brands, alike, to discover and engage with Yardzen. Yardzen aspires to be a lifestyle brand, with this role leading the activities through the conversion cycle resulting in a passionate community of Yardzen lovers. This role is among the most important to the company as it sits at the core of our brand and mission.
This is a generalist role, on purpose. You’ll devise a communications strategy on Monday, partner with a creator for content on Tuesday, launch a referral program on Wednesday, execute an experiential pop up on Thursday, and give a contractor partner directions about how to best photograph a Yardzen yard they’re building on Friday. You’ll own the programs you build, including their results.
This role requires a brand marketing athlete. You’ll do lots of things in this role, but first and foremost you’ll be a modern storyteller. Every single Yardzen client has a story. It’s through telling those stories individually and at scale that Yardzen’s brand really comes alive.
This role reports into the Marketing Director.
What you'll do:
Brand Communications & Campaigns
Define communications priorities and gain executive alignment on strategy and content approach that build the Yardzen brand with prospective clients.
Design, launch, and own campaigns that focus on building brand awareness and shaping a positive perception of Yardzen.
Nail consistent messaging and brand voice across every mention of Yardzen you own
Identify creative opportunities to bring the Yardzen brand to life and reach new audiences across channels and activities.
Foster and facilitate community around the Yardzen brand among past clients that can positively affect current/future clients, and lead to lifestyle brand status.
Build project plans, coordinate stakeholders, and keep initiatives moving from idea through launch.
Organic Growth & Content
Shape organic initiatives that introduce Yardzen (discovery) and entice the right people to engage with our brand and product platform.
Leverage expertise in key social platforms (Instagram, Pinterest) to tell compelling brand stories that engage potential clients (and the Yardzen community).
Design programs that make it easier for Yardzen clients to share their yard transformations, and thus share Yardzen.
Own the Yardzen Ambassador Program for creators and Yardzen champions, alike, to earn commission.
Brand Collaborations & Activations
Discover and engage with the brands that share our ethos and complement our mission for potential partnerships to engage audience segments with the Yardzen brand.
Manage the day-to-day marketing execution of collaborations, including messaging, creative assets, timelines, and promotion (in close collaboration with the Business Partnerships team).
Track and report on partnership activation performance, share learnings, and evolve strategies accordingly.
Public Relations & Storytelling
Partner with the Director in owning the Yardzen PR strategy and activation (note, the Founder / CEO plays a big role here).
Become expert on Yardzen’s data and trends we’re seeing across our platform and package them as stories, richly valuable to the publications our clients read.
Form relationships with the right journalists, editors, creators, brand influencers and media properties to further the Yardzen leadership voice in the landscape market.
American Firewise Project, our effort to help homeowners in fire-vulnerable areas build yards that are both beautiful and defensible, starting with the five feet closest to the house.
About you:
You have 5+ years of experience across brand marketing, communications, content, PR or integrated marketing.
You’re a social media maven adept at creating content strategy, leading development of the content, and understands how social platforms work.
You’re a strong writer and editor. You’ve been complimented on your writing skills your whole life.
Bonus if you have experience in a premiere PR firm working on successful D2C brands.
You’re a versatile generalist who’s excited to work across different types of marketing initiatives.
You’re self motivated and are inclined to run, not walk. We move fast!
You can write a killer pitch and show us a few that have resulted in excellent stories.
You’re AI-confident but not reliant. Claude has nothing on your writing skills.
You’re a real teammate, with goodness and grit. You’re proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with lots of ambiguity.
You are based in the Bay Area and available to support occasional in-person opportunities - such as client photo shoots, community events, and brand activations - in Yardzen’s largest client market.

Tips for Your Remote Brand Marketing Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote brand marketing openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your experience and apply directly without sifting through mixed results from multiple sources.
Show async work samples in your portfolio
Remote brand marketing teams run on written briefs, Slack threads, and shared docs, so your portfolio should demonstrate not just finished campaigns but how you think and communicate in writing. Include brief case notes explaining your decisions, not just the deliverables.
Target remote-first companies explicitly
Companies built as remote-first from the start have hiring processes and management styles designed for distributed teams. Brand marketings joining those companies face fewer 'this worked differently in the office' friction points and ramp up faster.
Prepare for asynchronous interview steps
Many remote employers use recorded video questions, written briefs, or async brand exercises before live interviews. Practice articulating brand strategy clearly in a single take or a short written response, since those steps often filter candidates before any live call.
Remote Brand Marketing Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote brand marketing job?
Focus on companies with distributed teams and remote-first cultures, since they build hiring processes around candidates who work independently without daily oversight. Remote employers screen for strong written communication, the ability to drive brand projects asynchronously, and familiarity with tools like Slack, Notion, and Asana. A portfolio showing campaign results, brand voice work, or cross-functional launches gives you a clear edge over candidates who can only describe their work.
Which companies hire remote brand marketings?
Companies hiring remote brand marketings right now include ARCHKEY SOLUTIONS, GEICO, and Oscilar, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Remote-first tech companies, DTC consumer brands, and SaaS businesses are among the most consistent hirers of brand marketing professionals on distributed teams.
Can you get a remote brand marketing job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because employers need confidence you can deliver work independently from day one. Targeting startups, small DTC brands, and growth-stage companies tends to open more doors than large remote programs, which favor experienced candidates. Freelance brand projects, spec campaigns, or a focused portfolio demonstrating brand thinking can substitute for traditional experience when applying remotely.
Do you need a degree for remote brand marketing jobs?
Not always. Remote employers in brand marketing weigh demonstrated skills and real results heavily, especially at growth-stage companies and remote-first firms where output matters more than credentials. A portfolio of brand work, measurable campaign results, or a history of building brand presence can carry more weight than a degree, though some larger organizations list a degree as a baseline requirement.
Which industries hire the most remote brand marketings?
Remote brand marketing roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and Insurance, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Those sectors rely on distributed marketing teams that can manage brand strategy, content, and campaigns without needing everyone in the same office.
