ABOUT THE ROLE
Under the administrative direction of the BCM Director, the Specialist II role works independently to perform the following functions. The Specialist will provide professional, specialized skills including, but not limited to, BCM tool backend configuration, project management, problem analysis and resolution related to Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident/Emergency Management.
- Act as the primary BCM subject matter expert to configure and maintain backend changes to the Fusion software tool. This includes developing reports, modifying screens, system changes, data cleansing etc.
- Recommend and implement Business Continuity Management best practices suitable to Horizons way of doing business.
- Partner with various areas within Horizon BCBS of NJ to execute the annual Business Continuity Management plan maintenance, including Business Impact Analysis.
- Primary BCM subject matter expert in the development of recovery strategies in collaboration with the Disaster Recovery and IT teams.
- Collaborate with leadership in developing, coordinating, and maintaining comprehensive business contingency plans and validation methodology, to ensure the enterprise's ability to recovery, in the event of an unforeseen disruption to facilities, technology systems, or applications.
- Provide maintenance and reporting of the BCM plans status to Senior Management.
- Create content for, conduct, and oversee the coordination of BCM training and awareness for areas of coverage change.
- Collaborate with senior management on develop and facilitation of periodic exercises and walkthroughs to assist in the validation of the recovery plans and procedures.
- Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas, as requested, when a business disruption occurs.
- Other related duties and ad-hoc projects, as appropriate.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 8 years direct experience in business continuity planning or related fields required (Business Continuity, Incident Management or Disaster Recovery field).
Additional Licensing, Certifications, Registrations:
- Fusion Framework Systems Certified Administrator required.
- CBCP or MBCI certification a plus.
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge and application of the Business Continuity Management professional practices.
- Sharepoint and Infopath a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong verbal / written communications. Must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business partners in remote locations.
- Strong administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates.
- Ability to present to various business areas regarding BCM practices and plans.
Travel:
- Travel and off-hour on-call support required.
- Must be available to assist with disaster recovery (business process & technology), building emergencies, etc.

SALARY RANGE
$97,800 - $133,455
This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This range has been created in good faith based on information known to Horizon at the time of posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
