Roofing Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a roofing contractor in Louisiana?
Roofing contractors in Louisiana must obtain a license through the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors, which requires passing a trade exam, a business and law exam, and submitting proof of insurance and financial responsibility. Residential roofing and commercial roofing are licensed separately depending on project size. Most applicants complete a formal apprenticeship through a trade school or gain documented field experience before sitting for the exam.
Which companies hire roofings in Louisiana?
Louisiana roofing roles are posted by Eskola, Centimark Corporation, and Best Choice Roofing and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Louisiana's active storm repair market and year-round commercial construction pipeline mean that both regional contractors and large national roofing companies maintain a consistent hiring presence across the state.
Which Louisiana cities have the most roofing jobs?
Baton Rouge, Hammond, and Lafayette are the Louisiana cities with the most roofing openings, driven by New Orleans' large post-hurricane restoration backlog and dense commercial corridor, Baton Rouge's steady industrial and government construction activity, and Shreveport's growing residential and commercial development in the northwest part of the state.
Are there remote roofing jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, but they're rare. Roofing is a hands-on trade and the overwhelming majority of positions require on-site work. About 0% of roofing openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those are almost exclusively estimating, project management, or sales roles where site visits are periodic rather than daily.
How can I get hired as a roofing in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly as a laborer or roofing helper with a Louisiana residential contractor, where most on-the-job training happens during paid work. Apprenticeship programs through Louisiana's Associated Builders and Contractors Gulf Coast Chapter give candidates structured training and employer connections. Having an OSHA 10 card and a willingness to work in heat and humidity puts inexperienced applicants ahead of most other entry-level candidates.
Where can I find and apply to roofing jobs in Louisiana?
You can find and apply to roofing jobs in Louisiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Louisiana openings from contractors and employers across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
