Safety Manager Jobs in Nebraska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a safety manager in Nebraska?
Most Nebraska employers require a bachelor's degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, or a related discipline as the foundation. Nebraska does not issue a state-specific safety manager license, so the most recognized credential is the Board of Certified Safety Professionals' Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional designation. Candidates typically build experience in compliance, loss control, or EHS coordinator roles within Nebraska's manufacturing, agriculture, or construction sectors before moving into management.
How much do safety managers make in Nebraska?
Safety managers in Nebraska earn a median of about $83,990 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $56,290 for the lowest 10% to over $115,100 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire safety managers in Nebraska?
Nebraska safety manager roles are posted by McCarthy Building, Boys Town, and Neogen Corporation and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nebraska's food processing, agricultural equipment, and construction industries generate the most consistent demand for experienced safety professionals across the state.
Which Nebraska cities have the most safety manager jobs?
Omaha, Lincoln, and Winnebago are the Nebraska cities with the most safety manager openings. Omaha leads because of its large manufacturing base and major corporate headquarters, while Lincoln's construction growth and university sector drive demand there, and Grand Island's concentration of food processing and agricultural operations sustains steady openings in that market.
Are there remote safety manager jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, but they're rare. Safety managers are primarily on-site roles requiring physical inspections, hazard assessments, and hands-on worker training. About 0% of safety manager openings tied to Nebraska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the practical limits of the role. The portions most likely to be performed remotely are policy writing, recordkeeping, and compliance documentation review.
How can I get hired as a safety manager in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing an EHS coordinator or safety technician role at one of Nebraska's large food processing or manufacturing employers, where internal promotion into management is common. Companies like Tyson Foods and JBS USA, both with major Nebraska operations, run structured onboarding for entry-level safety staff. Earning an OSHA 30-hour General Industry card and pursuing the Associate Safety Professional credential early signals commitment and gives candidates a concrete edge before management experience accumulates.
Where can I find and apply to safety manager jobs in Nebraska?
