INTRODUCTION
Join our Federal Division as a Safety Manager and play a critical role in protecting our people, projects, and mission. This position provides leadership, oversight, and guidance for all aspects of safety and health compliance on federal construction projects, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is a proactive safety professional who can build strong relationships in the field, coach teams toward a safety-first culture, and drive continuous improvement across multiple project sites. This role partners closely with project leadership, field personnel, and federal clients to ensure every employee returns home safely at the end of each day.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Safety Manager reports directly to the Corporate Safety Director and provides technical safety and health support to field and corporate personnel. This role develops corporate safety and health programs and objectives, coordinates safety training initiatives, monitors safety and health regulations, and provides technical guidance to help ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with all staff to promote a strong safety culture.
- Provides technical safety and health support and information to field and corporate personnel.
- Participates in new process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.
- Supports corporate operations to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
- Supports personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Maintains corporate safety libraries (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).
- Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs.
- Participates in the company occupational safety and health committee.
- Assist as necessary in implementation of a hazard communication program and preparation of reports.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitor regulatory changes as they occur.
- Provides technical support to field personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
- Advises corporate staff of industry-related regulatory changes with which the organization must comply, providing sufficient advance notice to ensure compliance by the effective date.
- Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims.
- Reviews safety inspection reports and follows up as necessary.
- Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS
- 5–7 years of prior management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and organize individual and group activities and processes
- Able to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and organizational levels, while taking initiative on projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
