Sales And Business Development Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales and business development in Kansas?
Most sales and business development roles in Kansas do not require a state-issued license, but a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is the standard entry point. Kansas employers in aerospace, manufacturing, and healthcare often prefer candidates who have completed formal sales training programs or hold a Certified Professional Sales Person credential. Building experience through inside sales or account coordinator roles at Wichita or Kansas City area companies is the most direct path into business development positions.
How much do sales and business developments make in Kansas?
Sales and business developments in Kansas earn a median of about $159,990 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $91,530 for the lowest 10% to over $249,990 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales and business developments in Kansas?
Employers hiring sales and business developments in Kansas right now include Shamrock Trading Corporation, CVS Health, and Garmin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kansas's concentration of manufacturing, aviation, and professional services firms means many openings focus on industrial accounts, enterprise software, and healthcare solutions.
Which Kansas cities have the most sales and business development jobs?
Overland Park, Wichita, and Lenexa lead Kansas for sales and business development openings. Wichita drives the largest share of listings because of its aerospace and manufacturing base, anchored by major employers in aviation and industrial equipment, while Kansas City's cross-state metro and Topeka's government-adjacent professional services sector generate consistent demand across B2B and enterprise sales roles.
Are there remote sales and business development jobs in Kansas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 48% of sales and business development openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and phone-driven nature of much of this work. Inside sales, account management, and business development representative roles are the positions most likely to offer fully remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a sales and business development in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an inside sales or sales development representative role, which large Kansas employers in Wichita and the Kansas City metro routinely post as entry-level positions requiring no prior sales experience. Companies in aerospace supply, technology distribution, and healthcare services frequently hire recent graduates into rotational or associate programs. Building a portfolio of cold-call metrics or completing a Certified Professional Sales Person course gives candidates a clear edge when competing for those first openings.
Where can I find and apply to sales and business development jobs in Kansas?
You can find and apply to sales and business development jobs in Kansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kansas openings across Wichita, Kansas City, Topeka, and smaller markets. Search by city or specialty to see roles that match your background, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
