Position Summary
This role supports a U.S. Region to drive revenue growth by building and managing client relationships in the biologics, CGT, and viral vaccine sectors, identifying new business opportunities, and supporting clients throughout the outsourcing lifecycle. This role will play a strategic role in expanding our footprint in complex biologics and advanced therapy markets.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Client Acquisition, Sales Strategy and Execution
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets (pharma, biotech etc)
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients
- Develop and execute a strategic commercial plan targeting biologics, CGT, and viral vaccine developers, including mid-size biotechs, CDMO’s and large biopharma companies.
- Conduct client meetings and presentations to promote services
- Lead the end-to-end sales process — from lead generation and needs discovery to proposal development, pricing, and contract negotiation.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals
- Conduct cold outreach, networking, and conference attendance to source leads and build brand presence.
- Help prepare and deliver customized proposals, RFI and RFP responses
- Analyze market trends and customer needs and provide feedback on potential new service offerings or refine positioning
- Collaborate with marketing to support campaigns, content, and lead generation activities
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for both new and existing clients.
- Develop multi-year relationships with key stakeholders (Procurement, QC, Lab Directors)
- Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction with testing services
- Support ongoing client engagement and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
- Understand client pain points and testing requirements; position our services accordingly.
- Perform quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key clients supporting Program Management to assess service performance.
- Work closely with lab operations, technical staff, and project managers to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations
- Provide client feedback to internal teams to support continuous improvement
- Liaise with scientific and operational teams to understand project scope, timelines, and feasibility.
- Participate in technical meetings to help guide clients through testing design and regulatory needs.
- Track industry trends, new regulations, and market shifts to identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor competitor services and pricing strategies; provide feedback to leadership.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM (Salesforce, SAP etc) including lead status, opportunity pipeline, and activity tracking.
- Prepare weekly sales reports with KPIs such as pipeline value, closing rate, sales velocity, and client acquisition information etc
- Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.
- Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.

- Ability to understand and explain technical testing services to non-technical stakeholders

- Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce) and MS Office Suite
- Demonstrated success at managing multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to receive, comprehend and to effectively communicate detailed scientific and business information through verbal and written communication.
- Deep understanding of scientific services and ability to explain them in business terms.

- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, biology, or a related field; advanced degree a plus
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management in a Contract Testing, CTO, CRO, CDMO, or scientific services environment
- Strong understanding of testing services, regulatory standards and client needs in regulated industries
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets

Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) as part of the compensation package.
