Most sales roles in Alabama do not require a state-issued license, though certain specialized areas do: insurance sales professionals must pass the Alabama Department of Insurance licensing exam and complete continuing education, and real estate sales agents must be licensed through the Alabama Real Estate Commission. For general sales roles, Alabama employers typically look for a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, demonstrated performance in a prior sales role, and familiarity with the industry vertical you are entering.
Which companies hire saless in Alabama?
Employers hiring saless in Alabama right now include AutoZone, Lowe's Home Improvement, and World Market, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Alabama's automotive supply chain, regional banking sector, and healthcare systems generate particularly consistent sales openings throughout the year.
Which Alabama cities have the most sales jobs?
Birmingham, Hoover, and Mobile lead Alabama in sales job openings. Birmingham drives the largest share of postings as the state's financial, healthcare, and corporate services hub, while Huntsville's expanding defense and aerospace contractors fuel strong industrial and technology sales demand, and Mobile's port economy and manufacturing base support a steady pipeline of logistics and distribution sales roles.

Yes, and more than many fields, since a significant portion of inside sales, SaaS, and financial products sales work is phone and screen-based. About 25% of sales openings tied to Alabama are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have shifted inside sales teams to flexible arrangements. Field sales, territory management, and healthcare device roles remain predominantly in-person given the client-facing nature of the work.
How can I get hired as a sales in Alabama with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a sales development representative or business development representative role, which Alabama employers across financial services, healthcare, and technology regularly staff with candidates who have no formal sales background. Regions Financial, UAB Health System, and mid-size Huntsville-area defense contractors run structured new-hire programs that pair entry-level reps with senior mentors. A completed bachelor's degree, an Alabama insurance license if pursuing financial products, or a demonstrable record in a customer-facing role such as retail or hospitality gives candidates a clear edge.
