This is an on-the-go role built for someone who is passionate about cannabis, comfortable pounding the pavement, and ready to work closely with our Head of Sales on territory strategy while moving throughout the city.
You'll spend most days in the field, meeting with new dispensaries to open accounts and checking in with existing clients to keep relationships strong and orders coming in.
This is a sales-first role. Your job is to build relationships, create opportunities, and close business.
The right person is steady, adaptable, self-motivated, and comfortable being the face of a young company in a growing market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visit licensed dispensaries throughout NYC daily to build relationships, present our brand lineup, and close new accounts
- Prospect and open new retail accounts across your territory, from initial cold outreach through signed orders
- Manage and grow relationships with existing accounts, driving repeat orders and expanding shelf space
- Deliver clear, confident budtender walk-throughs and product education that supports sell-through
- Maintain consistent, compliant in-store merchandising and brand presence
- Support pop-ups, trainings, activations, and other in-market events throughout NYC
- Maintain accurate account notes, CRM entries, pipeline activity, and follow-up documentation
- Collaborate closely with our Head of Sales on territory strategy, account priorities, and growth opportunities
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable collaborating directly with leadership on territory strategy and priorities
- Approximately 70% travel throughout NYC, with the remainder of the role focused on administrative work, reporting, follow-up, and account check-ins
- 1 to 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, field marketing, or a related customer-facing role preferred
- Confident presenting to individuals and small groups, including dispensary teams and budtenders
- Basic understanding of cannabis products and a willingness to learn New York cannabis regulations
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic CRM or reporting tools
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver's license or reliable transportation and NYC transit habits
- Cannabis industry experience is helpful, but not required
WHAT YOU'LL GAIN
- A ground-floor opportunity in field sales with meaningful exposure to account management
- A clear growth path into a larger account management role
- Real ownership and responsibility within your territory
- Direct access to company leadership
- The opportunity to help shape how Sigma Cannabis and its brands show up across the New York market

Sales Representative Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales representative job in New York?
Target the sectors that drive the most hiring in New York: financial services and fintech in the Financial District, enterprise software and SaaS in Midtown, media and advertising along the Hudson Yards corridor, and healthcare technology across the boroughs. Candidates who demonstrate territory knowledge of the New York metro market and can show measurable results from previous roles stand out. Networking through industry events in Midtown and Downtown puts you in front of decision-makers faster than applications alone.
Which companies hire sales representatives in New York?

New York's market draws a broad mix of global financial firms, early-stage startups, and large media and healthcare organizations, all of which staff substantial inside and outside sales teams.
Are there remote sales representative jobs in New York?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the type of sales role. How can I get a sales representative job in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in New York is a sales development representative or business development representative role at a Midtown or Hudson Yards-based technology or SaaS company, where structured training programs are common. Staffing and insurance firms across the boroughs also hire entry-level candidates and train from scratch. A demonstrated ability to build relationships, combined with familiarity with New York's competitive client landscape, carries more weight than a formal sales background in many of these organizations.
