What you will do:
Are you ready to shape the future of smart buildings? At Johnson Controls; we’re looking for a Product Manager to lead the long‑term product vision, roadmap, and global growth strategy for our next‑generation HVAC actuator portfolio, including damper actuators, valve actuators, and intelligent control components.
The Global Product Manager serving as the primary interface between market needs and engineering execution, will define and drive the product roadmap for a portfolio of intelligent, networked field devices—focused primarily on control valves & actuators, used in HVAC and building automation systems. Leveraging deep domain knowledge and customer insights, the product manager will lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from requirements definition through design validation and commercial launch. The ideal candidate combines deep domain knowledge, strategic insight, and strong commercial/technical acumen to create a futureproof, competitive, and differentiated portfolio serving commercial buildings, data centers, industrial facilities, and OEM partners worldwide.
How will you do it:
- Develop and own a multi‑year strategic roadmap for the global HVAC actuator category, addressing emerging market needs such as high‑efficiency buildings, digital commissioning, smart equipment integration, and predictive maintenance.
- Evaluate competitive landscape, regulatory trends, and technological advancements (motor technologies, connectivity, cybersecurity, materials innovation)
- Lead cross‑functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Regional Product Management to deliver differentiated, sustainable, and manufacturable products.
- Develop pricing strategy, SKU optimization, and long‑term roadmap alignment with customer segments, channel partners, and OEMs
- Develop competitive positioning, messaging, launch plans, and training collateral to equip global sales channels with winning value propositions.
- Partner with regional and global commercial teams to drive adoption in priority segments such as data centers, healthcare, education, industrial, and commercial buildings
- Lead stage‑gate processes from concept through launch, ensuring delivery on technical, financial, and timeline commitments.
- Track performance of the actuator portfolio using KPIs such as new product revenue, gross margin, quality, on time launch, new product vitality.
What you will need:
Required
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
- 8+ years in Product Management ideally in HVAC controls (Valves & Actuators), Building Management Systems & Solutions
- Experience with developing strategy for execution, make /buy vs partner assessments, agile development, product roadmaps & cross functional leadership.
- Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
- MBA (Marketing, General Management)
SALARY: $112,000-$187,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
