INTRODUCTION
SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we’re simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry. SeatGeek is looking for an Organic Social Media Strategist to own and reimagine our organic social presence from the ground up — across platforms, across moments, and across the culture that makes live entertainment worth showing up for. From hosting an Instagram live at an event to responding to fans on Reddit to developing a TikTok content series for the start of the NFL season, this person will own end-to-end strategy and execution across platforms. The Organic Social Media Strategist will report to the Director of Organic Growth and work cross-functionally with content, creative, PR, fan support, and beyond. The ideal candidate brings deep fluency in social media marketing, a genuine love for sports and live entertainment, and a strong instinct for tying great content to real business impact.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and manage SeatGeek's organic social channels end-to-end — including strategy, content creation, scheduling, and publishing across Instagram, TikTok, X, and any emerging platforms worth owning
Develop and execute a cohesive organic social strategy aligned with brand and business goals — defining channel-specific approaches, content pillars, posting cadence, and audience growth tactics that compound over time
Ideate and produce culturally relevant, platform-native content that taps into live events, sports, concerts, and entertainment moments — turning what's happening in culture into content that drives engagement, shares, and brand love
Stay ahead of trends, conversations, and activity in real time — identifying opportunities for timely reactive content, cultural hijacks, and community engagement that keep SeatGeek part of the conversation
Shoot, edit, and produce short-form video content using self-shot footage, UGC, or provided assets — with a strong eye for storytelling, pacing, hooks, and platform-native formats that stop the scroll
Track, analyze, and report on performance metrics — including reach, engagement, follower growth, and share of voice — and use those insights to continuously optimize content strategy and make a clear case for the channel's impact on the business
Own community engagement — responding to comments, DMs, and mentions with a voice that feels human, on-brand, and genuinely fun; turning fans into advocates and everyday interactions into brand moments
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, PR, and creative, and to support campaigns, product launches, and tentpole moments — while keeping the organic social voice consistent and authentic
Build and manage the content calendar — balancing planned campaigns, evergreen content, and real-time opportunities across multiple platforms without dropping the ball on any of them
Serve as the internal expert and evangelist for organic social — bringing platform insights, algorithm changes, and emerging format recommendations to the broader team and helping educate stakeholders on what moves the needle and why
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of experience in organic social media and content strategy, ideally at an e-commerce brand; experience in sports, live events, or ticketing is a strong plus
A scrappy, can-do work ethic. Comfortable operating independently, moving fast, and wearing multiple hats — you don't wait for perfect conditions to ship great content
Strong organization skills, with experience owning and managing a content calendar across multiple platforms and campaigns simultaneously, without letting real-time moments fall through the cracks
Fluent in internet culture — you're always clued into the latest trend, TikTok audio, or viral meme before it peaks, and you know how to translate that into content that feels native, not forced
A genuine passion for live entertainment and sports. You understand the cultural weight of the NBA playoffs as much as you know the setlist for the Ariana Grande tour — and you instinctively know how to show up for those moments in real time
A data-first mindset. You're a strong evangelist for the power of organic social, fluent in platform analytics, and able to clearly report on what's working, what's not, and how the channel connects to business outcomes and revenue
Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills. A natural collaborator who can work fluidly across teams — and who can clearly articulate social strategy to stakeholders at all levels
Experience partnering with creative teams and executing within brand guidelines — while knowing how to push those guardrails in ways that feel fresh and platform-native
Deep familiarity with social search and AI search optimization — you understand how content gets discovered through in-platform search on TikTok and Instagram, and you're proactive about building content strategies that perform in emerging AI discovery surfaces
Hands-on content creation experience, including shooting and editing short-form video (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar); comfortable being a producer, director, and sometimes the talent
Sharp editorial instincts and a distinctive writing voice — you can adapt tone across platforms and write captions that stop the scroll, whether that's a single punchy line or a hook that earns the "more."
A strong creative eye. You can concept and produce content yourself, write a brief that actually inspires a creative team, and give feedback that's specific, actionable, and makes the work better — not just different
* A natural community builder with strong instincts for engaging audiences in comments, knowing when to reply, amplify, or escalate, and turning everyday interactions into brand moments
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Discretionary annual bonus
Flexible work environment, allowing you to work as many days a week in the office as you’d like or 100% remotely
A WFH stipend to support your home office setup
Unlimited PTO
Up to 16 weeks of fully-paid family leave

Student loan matching program
Health, vision, dental, and life insurance

Tips for Your Social Media Strategist Job Search
Tailor your resume to platform-specific wins
List metrics tied to specific platforms, such as engagement rate improvements on Instagram or cost-per-click reductions on paid social campaigns. Generic social media experience reads as filler to hiring managers who expect platform-level proof of performance.
Build a portfolio before you need one
Screenshot campaign results, content calendars, and analytics dashboards now. Many social media strategist roles require a work sample before the interview stage, and candidates who can share a portfolio link move faster through the process than those who can't.
Target openings by channel specialty, not just title
Some roles are built around short-form video, others around B2B content or paid social. Search by platform terms alongside the title to surface openings that match your actual strengths and avoid wasting time on roles that need a different skill set.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists social media strategist openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare to present a strategic brief in interviews
Many social media strategist interviews include a take-home or live exercise where you audit a brand's current presence and pitch a channel strategy. Practice structuring recommendations around audience insights, content pillars, and measurable goals before your first round.
Negotiate scope before you negotiate salary
When you receive an offer, clarify what the role owns: content creation, paid budgets, community management, or all three. Scope creep is common in this role, and understanding what you're responsible for upfront protects you from being stretched beyond what the salary reflects.
Social Media Strategist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most social media strategists?
The companies hiring the most social media strategists right now include Amazon, Google, and ByteDance, with the largest share of openings in New York, California, and Illinois, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Agency and in-house brand roles tend to make up the bulk of active postings at any given time.
How many social media strategist jobs are remote?
About 34% of social media strategist openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making it one of the more location-flexible marketing roles. Content strategy and analytics-focused positions tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles involving live event coverage or in-studio production often require an on-site presence.
How do you become a social media strategist?
Most social media strategists start by building hands-on experience managing accounts, either for a student organization, a freelance client, or an entry-level coordinator role. From there, developing platform-specific skills in content creation, paid campaigns, and analytics reporting is what moves candidates into strategy-level positions. Certifications from platform providers can strengthen your resume early in your career.
Can you get hired as a social media strategist with little experience?
Yes, but you'll need to show work rather than just describe it. Employers hiring for junior strategist roles respond well to candidates who bring a portfolio of real campaigns, even from personal projects, volunteer work, or small businesses. Demonstrating that you can analyze results and adjust a strategy matters more than years of experience at this level.
What does the social media strategist interview process look like?
Most social media strategist interview processes include an initial recruiter screen, one or two conversations with the hiring manager and a marketing team member, and a practical exercise such as a brand audit or channel strategy presentation. Some companies add a final round with a senior marketing or communications leader. The take-home exercise is where most candidates are differentiated.
Where can I find and apply to social media strategist jobs?
You can find and apply to social media strategist jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Find roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to each listing. New openings are added regularly, so checking back frequently gives you the best shot at applying before positions fill.
