Cisco is building the infrastructure foundation for the AI era: the networks, data centers, security, observability, automation, and operations capabilities customers need to move AI from experiments to production at enterprise scale. We are seeking a senior product marketing leader who can take a full-stack view to turn deep infrastructure innovation into a clear market narrative, differentiated positioning, and go-to-market strategy. By translating complex infrastructure innovation into crisp customer use cases and strategic plans, you will align cross-functional teams and convert capabilities into demand, pipeline, and customer confidence. Your success will be measured by your ability to frame the market, align executives and product leaders through clear executive communication, and deliver scalable enablement that equips sellers and partners to articulate Cisco's AI infrastructure value. This is a high-influence role where your strategic planning and customer-facing expertise will directly impact Cisco's position as a leader in the AI era.

- 5+ years of experience utilizing market data, customer insight, and campaign performance metrics to refine marketing strategies.
- Exceptional executive communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and build alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Strong customer-facing presence, capable of translating technical roadmaps into compelling customer narratives and use cases.
- Deep understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads and what enterprises need to run them safely, securely, and at scale.
- Highly collaborative approach to partnering with product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams in fast-moving, ambiguous markets.

How do I get a strategy director job in San Jose?
The strongest path into a strategy director role in San Jose runs through the city's technology and semiconductor sectors, where corporate strategy teams sit inside large R&D-heavy organizations in North San Jose and the Downtown innovation corridor. Candidates with experience in M&A, market expansion, or product-line strategy for hardware or enterprise software companies stand out most. Targeting mid-size tech firms and growth-stage companies headquartered near the SAP Center district also opens doors faster than applying to the largest employers alone.
Which companies hire strategy directors in San Jose?
Companies currently hiring strategy directors in San Jose include Adobe, Cisco, and WD, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. San Jose's hiring base skews toward established semiconductor firms, enterprise software companies, and health-tech organizations with significant Bay Area headquarters operations.
Are there remote strategy director jobs in San Jose?
Yes, though strategy director roles tend to require regular executive collaboration, so fully remote positions are less common than hybrid arrangements. About 36% of strategy director openings tied to San Jose are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting a market that favors in-office presence for board-level and cross-functional work. Research and analysis components of the role are most likely to be performed remotely in San Jose's tech-sector positions.
How can I get a strategy director job in San Jose with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up through a strategy analyst or senior business analyst role inside one of San Jose's large technology or semiconductor companies, where internal mobility into director-level strategy positions is common. Targeting corporate development or competitive intelligence teams at mid-size enterprise software firms in North San Jose gives candidates exposure to director-level work without requiring a prior director title. An MBA from a Bay Area program combined with a stint at a San Jose-based tech company's strategy rotational program accelerates the timeline considerably.
Which industries hire the most strategy directors in San Jose?
The sectors hiring the most strategy directors in San Jose are Technology & Software, Electronics & Hardware, and Medical Devices, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. San Jose's role as the core of Silicon Valley means corporate strategy functions are especially dense in semiconductor design, cloud infrastructure, and medtech companies that maintain global headquarters in the city.
