Strategy Intern Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy intern in New Jersey?
Strategy intern roles in New Jersey do not require a state-issued license or certification. Most candidates enter through undergraduate business, economics, or engineering programs at New Jersey universities such as Rutgers, Princeton, or Stevens Institute of Technology, or through MBA programs at schools with recruiting pipelines into the state's major corporate employers. Building a portfolio of case analyses and securing a referral or on-campus recruiting connection at a Newark or Princeton-area firm strengthens candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire strategy interns in New Jersey?
Employers hiring strategy interns in New Jersey right now include Merck, Kyowa Kirin, and ZS Associates, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in sectors like pharmaceuticals, financial services, and technology creates a consistent pipeline of structured strategy internship programs throughout the year.
Which New Jersey cities have the most strategy intern jobs?
Rahway, Princeton, and New Brunswick account for the largest share of strategy intern openings in New Jersey. Newark and Jersey City draw volume from financial services firms and corporate headquarters, while Princeton benefits from its proximity to major pharmaceutical and technology campuses, and smaller suburban hubs like Parsippany and Florham Park host regional offices of national consulting and professional services firms.
Are there remote strategy intern jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 67% of strategy intern openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, analytical nature of the work. Project-based deliverables like market research and competitive benchmarking tend to be the most remote-friendly components, while executive presentations and cross-functional workshops typically require in-office attendance.
How can I get hired as a strategy intern in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a university recruiting program at a New Jersey employer, particularly the summer internship cohorts that Prudential Financial, Johnson & Johnson, and large consulting firms run specifically for early-career candidates. Students who have participated in case competitions, consulting clubs, or finance organizations at Rutgers or Stevens hold a clear edge. Lateral moves from data analyst or research assistant roles at New Jersey companies also open doors, as does a strong analytical project in a relevant industry.
Where can I find and apply to strategy intern jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to strategy intern jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the positions that fit. No sign-up is required to see listings.
