How do I get a strategy job in San Antonio?
The clearest path into strategy work in San Antonio runs through the city's dominant sectors: military and defense contracting around Joint Base San Antonio, large healthcare systems in the Medical Center, and financial services firms headquartered downtown. Candidates who can show experience translating data into organizational decisions, or who have worked in consulting or corporate planning roles, tend to move faster in this market. Familiarity with federal or healthcare procurement cycles is a notable edge locally.

Are there remote strategy jobs in San Antonio?
Yes, though it depends on the role type: analytical and corporate strategy positions tend to be more remote-friendly, while operational or government-facing strategy roles in San Antonio typically require on-site presence. About 85% of strategy openings tied to San Antonio are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the fully remote share concentrated in private-sector corporate strategy and consulting-adjacent roles rather than defense or healthcare operations.
How can I get a strategy job in San Antonio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in San Antonio is a business analyst or planning coordinator role, which several of the city's large healthcare networks and defense contractors use as a feeder into formal strategy functions. USAA and large hospital systems like University Health regularly hire analysts at the associate level. Building familiarity with scenario planning tools and demonstrating any project work tied to process improvement or market research will help candidates stand out at the entry level locally.
