Supply Chain Director Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a supply chain director in Georgia?
Supply chain director roles in Georgia do not require a state-issued license, but most employers expect a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or industrial engineering, along with substantial operations leadership experience. The APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional credential is widely recognized across Georgia's manufacturing and distribution sectors and gives candidates a measurable edge. Georgia Tech's Supply Chain and Logistics Institute also offers programs that carry strong credibility with Atlanta-area employers.
How much do supply chain directors make in Georgia?
Supply chain directors in Georgia earn a median of about $123,330 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $74,920 for the lowest 10% to over $207,890 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire supply chain directors in Georgia?
Employers hiring supply chain directors in Georgia right now include The Home Depot, The Coca-Cola Company, and Emory Healthcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's mix of global headquarters, major distribution hubs, and Savannah's port-driven logistics sector means hiring is spread across consumer goods, retail, industrial, and third-party logistics companies.
Which Georgia cities have the most supply chain director jobs?
Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Georgia have the most supply chain director openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates because of its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and regional distribution centers, Savannah's volume reflects the Port of Savannah's role as one of the busiest container ports on the East Coast, and Columbus draws openings from its manufacturing and defense-sector employers anchored by TSYS and Aflac's back-end operations.
Are there remote supply chain director jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely desk-based fields. About 44% of supply chain director openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the fact that many director-level roles require on-site plant, warehouse, or distribution center oversight. The portions of the role most suited to remote or hybrid arrangements are procurement strategy, vendor negotiations, and systems-based planning work.
How can I get hired as a supply chain director in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving up through operational roles such as supply chain analyst, purchasing manager, or logistics supervisor within Georgia's manufacturing or distribution sector. Large Georgia employers including Home Depot, Genuine Parts Company, and Mohawk Industries run structured rotational and leadership development programs that build director-track experience. Earning an APICS certification while in an analyst or coordinator role signals readiness for senior responsibility and accelerates the transition to director-level consideration.
