Supply Chain Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a supply chain professional in California?
Most supply chain roles in California require a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field. California does not have a state-issued license specific to supply chain work, but professional certifications from APICS such as the CPIM or CSCP are widely recognized by California employers and often treated as a hiring differentiator. Large California companies in retail, tech, and life sciences typically expect candidates to have ERP system experience alongside their degree.
How much do supply chains make in California?
Supply chains in California earn a median of about $92,890 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $57,720 for the lowest 10% to over $153,220 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire supply chains in California?
Employers hiring supply chains in California right now include Amazon, Apple, and Meta, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of technology headquarters, major retailers, and life sciences manufacturers means supply chain hiring here tends to be consistent and distributed across multiple large, established organizations.
Which California cities have the most supply chain jobs?
San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Jose have the most supply chain openings in California right now. Los Angeles and the Inland Empire dominate because of the nation's busiest port complex at San Pedro Bay and the enormous warehouse and fulfillment infrastructure that surrounds it, while the Bay Area's concentration of technology and biotech headquarters drives strong demand for procurement and planning roles.
Are there remote supply chain jobs in California?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since many supply chain roles require on-site presence at warehouses, distribution centers, or manufacturing facilities. About 11% of supply chain openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and the positions most likely to offer that flexibility are procurement, demand planning, and supply chain analytics roles rather than logistics operations or inventory management.
How can I get hired as a supply chain professional in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a logistics coordinator or procurement assistant role, which California employers in retail, fulfillment, and life sciences regularly fill with recent graduates. Companies like Amazon, Target, and large healthcare systems such as Sutter Health and Kaiser Permanente run rotational or associate supply chain programs designed for candidates without deep experience. Earning an APICS CSCP or completing coursework through a California State University supply chain program strengthens a new-grad application considerably, and internships at any of California's major ports or distribution hubs are a recognized starting point.
Where can I find and apply to supply chain jobs in California?
You can find and apply to supply chain jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
