Support Associate Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a support associate in Vermont?
Most Vermont employers require a high school diploma or GED as a baseline, with an associate or bachelor's degree preferred for roles in healthcare or financial services. Vermont does not issue a state license specifically for support associates, so the path focuses on building relevant experience through entry-level customer service, administrative assistant, or office coordinator roles. Completing a Vermont State Colleges or Community College of Vermont program in business administration or healthcare administration strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.
Which companies hire support associates in Vermont?
Employers hiring support associates in Vermont right now include Shaw's, State of Vermont, and CVS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's healthcare, insurance, and state government sectors tend to drive the largest and most consistent share of these openings year-round.
Which Vermont cities have the most support associate jobs?
The Vermont cities with the most support associate openings are Montpelier, Vermont, and Burlington. Burlington generates the highest concentration due to its cluster of healthcare systems, financial services firms, and tech companies, while Montpelier's state government offices and insurance sector drive demand there, and Rutland's regional medical and retail employers account for activity in southern Vermont.
Are there remote support associate jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and they are more common than in many other fields because a significant portion of support associate work involves phone, email, and software-based tasks that do not require a physical location. About 55% of support associate openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the role's desk-based nature. Technical helpdesk support and customer account management positions tend to have the highest share of fully remote availability.
How can I get hired as a support associate in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly for administrative coordinator or customer service representative roles at Vermont's larger institutions, which routinely hire candidates with strong communication skills and train them on internal systems. The University of Vermont Medical Center and Vermont State Agencies post associate-level support openings designed for candidates without specialized backgrounds. Completing a short business or healthcare administration certificate through Community College of Vermont and gaining basic CRM or Microsoft Office proficiency gives candidates a measurable edge when competing for these positions.
Where can I find and apply to support associate jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to support associate jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings updated in real time. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and location preference, and apply directly to those positions. There is no need to create a profile or sign up to view and apply to the listings.
