Application Support Analyst Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a application support analyst in Vermont?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an application support analyst in Vermont. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, though candidates with an associate degree and strong hands-on experience are regularly considered. Earning vendor-recognized certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or a platform-specific credential strengthens applications considerably in Vermont's healthcare and government-heavy market.
Which companies hire application support analysts in Vermont?
Employers hiring application support analysts in Vermont right now include CVS Health, Ryder System, and WEG Electric, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's healthcare sector, particularly large hospital networks and health information exchanges, is consistently among the most active sources of application support openings in the state.
Which Vermont cities have the most application support analyst jobs?
Montpelier, Vermont, and Barre have the most application support analyst openings in Vermont. Burlington leads because it is home to the University of Vermont Medical Center, several financial services firms, and the state's largest concentration of technology employers, while Montpelier generates openings through state agency IT departments and South Burlington draws from the corporate and healthcare campuses clustered along Shelburne Road.
Are there remote application support analyst jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and more than most fields, since application support work is largely desk-based and system-access can be managed remotely. About 50% of application support analyst openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broad employer comfort with distributed support teams. Roles focused on software configuration, ticket resolution, and vendor coordination are the most consistently offered as fully remote positions.
How can I get hired as a application support analyst in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a help desk or IT support technician role, which Vermont healthcare employers and state agencies regularly hire for without requiring prior application support experience. UVM Medical Center and Vermont state government agencies both post entry-level IT positions that transition naturally into application support. Building familiarity with an EHR platform like Epic or a ticketing system through coursework or a home lab, combined with CompTIA A+ certification, makes a candidate noticeably more competitive for these stepping-stone roles.
Where can I find and apply to application support analyst jobs in Vermont?
