Support Lead Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a support lead in Vermont?
The path to a support lead role in Vermont typically starts with several years of experience in the relevant support function, whether IT, healthcare, or customer operations, followed by moving into a senior individual contributor role before taking on team leadership. Vermont does not require a single universal state license for support leads, but roles within regulated fields such as healthcare may require credentials recognized by the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation. A relevant bachelor's degree and documented supervisory experience are the most common prerequisites Vermont employers list.
Which companies hire support leads in Vermont?
Employers hiring support leads in Vermont right now include Shaw's, State of Vermont, and CVS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's largest healthcare networks, technology manufacturers, and state government offices tend to post support lead openings most consistently throughout the year.
Which Vermont cities have the most support lead jobs?
Montpelier, Vermont, and Burlington have the most support lead openings in Vermont. Burlington drives the largest share of listings given its concentration of healthcare, finance, and technology employers, while Montpelier's openings are anchored by state government agencies, and South Burlington benefits from its proximity to Burlington's commercial and medical corridors.
Are there remote support lead jobs in Vermont?
Yes, and more than many comparable roles, since support lead work in technology and customer operations translates well to remote environments. About 55% of support lead openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting employer flexibility in desk-based functions. IT support leadership and customer operations management are the sub-areas most likely to offer fully remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a support lead in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to build several years in a support specialist or coordinator role at a large Vermont employer, then step into a team lead or shift supervisor position. The University of Vermont Medical Center and State of Vermont agencies regularly hire support associates and offer internal advancement into lead roles. Completing a relevant certification in IT service management or healthcare administration gives candidates a clear edge, and lateral moves from roles such as service desk analyst, patient access coordinator, or operations associate are common stepping stones Vermont hiring managers recognize.
Where can I find and apply to support lead jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to support lead jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings to find roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
