The IBM i System Administrator will be a key member of a team responsible for monitoring, maintaining, updating, securing, troubleshooting, and recovering systems in a large IBM i Data Center environment. The Administrator will report to the System Administration Supervisor, OutLink Data Center Infrastructure, and will work with other professionals to address the needs of the department. Good verbal and written communications are needed for this position to interact with internal and external customers. Administrator responsibilities are to maintain multiple system i partitions to ensure customer access and application uptime, work with data center operations, internal groups, and customers to resolve customer and data center issues. Also, this position will assist with disaster recovery/business continuity operations. Jack Henry offers career growth opportunities and competitive benefits.
This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Allen, TX; Birmingham, AL; Cedar Falls, IA; Lenexa, KS; Louisville, KY; Charlotte, NC; Springfield, MO; or Monett, MO.
The salary range for this position is $72,700 - $91,100 and will be determined based on location and experience level.
All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Maintain IBM i partitions to ensure system availability and security for customer and application access.
- Monitor systems to ensure optimum performance and availability.
- Review security reports to ensure documented security standards are being enforced.
- Assist in preparation and periodic recovery testing of DA plans.
- Research and resolve system i and customer related issues in a timely fashion.
- Participate in on-call 24x7 support rotation.
- Perform system saves, restores as required for effective system backup and recovery.
- Install IBM operating system upgrades and PTFs as required.
- May perform other job duties as assigned.
What you’ll need to have:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IBM i Administration.
- Able to work extended hours and flexible/on-call schedules as business needs dictate.
What would be nice for you to have:
- Experience with System i security.
- Experience with Independent ASPs in an IBM i environment.
- Experience with hosted financial applications.
