Why This Role Matters
A 45-person law firm is building out its systems function — and this role is where that work starts. How You'll Spend Your Time
You'll report to the CEO and support the Sales and Marketing Directors and the Heads of HR, Finance, and Legal Ops on systems-related needs. This is an individual-contributor role with no direct reports or budget authority.
- Help build and maintain the Firm's technology backbone. Support data architecture work across platforms. Assist with custom software tasks (PostgreSQL, Python, JavaScript/React) under direction.
- Support administration of Google Workspace, case management systems (Lawmatics, FileVine), VoIP phones, Zoom, and related tools.
- Assist with the Firm's ongoing platform transitions, including the current migration from Infusionsoft + MyCase to Lawmatics + FileVine.
- Help maintain dashboards and reporting (currently led by DataBox) that give leadership visibility into firm performance.
- Maintain shared spreadsheets, operational tools, and workflows. Support the Firm's LMS platform for HR training.
- Flag inefficiencies and bring forward ideas for solutions.

System Support Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a system support specialist in Texas?
Most Texas employers require at least an associate degree in information technology or a closely related field, though a bachelor's degree strengthens your candidacy at larger organizations. Texas does not issue a state license specific to this role, so industry certifications carry the most weight: CompTIA A+, Network+, and Microsoft certifications are consistently requested in Texas listings. Building hands-on experience through community college labs, internships, or IT help desk roles at Texas universities and hospital systems is a practical entry path.
Which companies hire system support specialists in Texas?
Employers hiring system support specialists in Texas right now include Siemens, Strativia, and Sbt Global, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of energy companies, large hospital networks, and enterprise technology headquarters creates steady, year-round demand across the state.
Which Texas cities have the most system support specialist jobs?
Houston, Plano, and Dallas have the most system support specialist openings in Texas. Houston's energy sector and medical center drive volume there, while Dallas and the surrounding Metroplex host major corporate headquarters and managed service providers that run large internal IT support operations, and Austin's density of technology companies and state government agencies sustains consistent demand.
Are there remote system support specialist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they are limited, because system support specialists often need to be on-site to handle hardware, cabling, and in-person end-user issues. About 40% of system support specialist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to be Tier 2 or Tier 3 support roles focused on software troubleshooting, remote monitoring, and ITSM ticket management rather than hands-on infrastructure work.
How can I get hired as a system support specialist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an IT help desk or desktop support associate role, which serves as the standard on-ramp at large Texas employers like Texas Health Resources, the University of Texas system, and major state agencies in Austin. Completing a CompTIA A+ certification before applying gives you a measurable edge and is specifically referenced in entry-level Texas postings. Community college workforce programs at institutions like Houston Community College and Dallas College offer short-term IT support certificates designed to meet local employer expectations.
Where can I find and apply to system support specialist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to system support specialist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across the state's major hiring markets. Search the roles that match your experience level and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
