THE OPPORTUNITY
Vir Biotechnology is looking for a Senior Talent Acquisition Recruiter to join our fast-paced HR team. In this role, you will own full-cycle recruitment for both technical/scientific and corporate functions and serve as a strategic partner to hiring managers across the company.
This role is based at our San Francisco headquarters, with an expectation of at least three days per week in the office.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead end-to-end recruiting for assigned roles: intake/strategy meetings, job postings, sourcing, screening, interview management, debriefs and offers
- Partner closely with hiring managers and HR to define role requirements, craft accurate job descriptions, and build effective hiring strategies
- Proactively identify, engage, and convert top active and passive candidates using a variety of sourcing channels
- Manage all logistics and coordination for interviews, including scheduling, candidate communication, and follow-up
- Ensure an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience through clear communication, responsiveness, and consistency
- Maintain high data integrity and accurate tracking in the Applicant Tracking System and related tools
WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of progressive recruiting experience, including at least 5 years in talent acquisition within a fast-paced biotechnology or biopharmaceutical environment required
- Demonstrated success managing full-cycle recruitment across both technical (e.g., R&D, CMC, scientific/technical roles) and corporate functions
- Proven experience advising and influencing managers and leaders on recruiting strategy, candidate selection, and market dynamics
- Strong sourcing skills with a track record of engaging passive talent
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously
- Comfortable handling both strategic recruiting work and hands-on administrative tasks (scheduling, coordination, ATS updates)
- Prior experience with Greenhouse preferred
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE OFFER
The expected Hourly rate for this position is $58 to $81. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
