This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can connect hiring strategy to the needs of the business, build trusted partnerships with leaders, and create the structure and discipline needed to deliver consistently. You'll lead and develop our Talent Acquisition team while staying close to critical searches and the day-to-day realities of hiring.
As our workforce and the nature of work continue to evolve, you'll also help us rethink what great talent looks like in the AI era. That means hiring for skills like adaptability, curiosity, judgment, and impact, while finding thoughtful ways to use AI to make recruiting faster, smarter, and more human.
What you'll do
- Translate business and workforce priorities into a clear, actionable hiring strategy
- Lead, coach, and develop the Talent Acquisition team, creating clarity around priorities, ownership, and performance
- Partner closely with senior leaders and People Business Partners on workforce planning, role design, talent profiles, and hiring decisions
- Lead or stay closely involved in critical and senior-level searches
- Build strong talent pipelines for current and future business needs
- Help leaders clearly define the capabilities, skills, and outcomes required for each role before beginning a search
- Establish consistent, high-quality hiring practices across sourcing, assessment, interviewing, selection, and closing
- Use data to identify trends, assess recruiting effectiveness, and help the business make better talent decisions
- Improve hiring-manager capability through practical tools, coaching, and clear expectations
- Own and continuously improve the candidate experience
- Evaluate how AI, automation, and emerging tools can improve recruiting workflows while preserving human judgment and connection
- Partner with People Operations, Total Rewards, Finance, and Legal to ensure hiring practices are scalable, competitive, and compliant
- Manage external search partners and recruiting vendors when needed
- Strengthen our employer brand and how we communicate our story to prospective talent
What we're looking for
- Significant experience leading Talent Acquisition in a fast-moving, scaling, global organization
- Experience in SaaS
- Experience managing and developing recruiters on an international team
- A track record of partnering with senior executives and influencing hiring and workforce decisions
- The ability to move comfortably between strategy and execution
- Strong business judgment and the ability to connect talent decisions to company priorities
- Experience building structured, consistent, and inclusive hiring practices
- A data-oriented approach, with experience using recruiting metrics to identify problems and improve outcomes
- Strong coaching and communication skills, particularly with hiring managers and senior leaders
- Curiosity about AI and how it can improve both recruiting operations and the quality of talent decisions
- Comfort operating through ambiguity, change, and competing priorities
- A high level of ownership, follow-through, and attention to the candidate and employee experience
You'll be successful in this role if you
- Build deep trust with leaders and become a valued partner in talent decisions
- Create greater clarity and consistency in how we plan for and assess talent
- Develop a strong, accountable, and highly capable Talent Acquisition team
- Improve the quality, speed, and predictability of hiring
- Help us hire people with the skills and mindsets needed for our next phase
- Leave every candidate with a thoughtful and human experience, regardless of the outcome

Talent Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a talent manager in Massachusetts?
Most talent manager roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or psychology, followed by several years in recruiting, HR coordination, or people operations. Massachusetts does not issue a state license for talent managers, but earning a credential such as a SHRM-CP or PHR through the Society for Human Resource Management or the HR Certification Institute is widely expected by major Massachusetts employers, particularly in biotech, finance, and healthcare.
Which companies hire talent managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring talent managers in Massachusetts right now include SharkNinja, Chewy, and Crocs, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of life sciences, financial services, and higher education institutions means demand for talent managers with sector-specific sourcing experience is especially consistent throughout the year.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most talent manager jobs?
Boston, Needham, and Waltham account for the largest share of talent manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston drives most of the volume as the headquarters city for major financial, healthcare, and technology employers, while Cambridge's biotech cluster and Worcester's growing healthcare and manufacturing base each sustain steady, independent demand rather than simply reflecting Boston's overflow.
Are there remote talent manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than many roles, since talent management work is largely communication and systems-based rather than hands-on. About 75% of talent manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly Massachusetts employers have adopted flexible arrangements since the shift in knowledge-work norms. Sourcing, employer branding, and talent analytics functions tend to be the most remote-compatible parts of the role.
How can I get hired as a talent manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an HR coordinator or recruiting coordinator role, which large Massachusetts employers such as Mass General Brigham, State Street, and Fidelity Investments regularly post as entry-level positions with structured onboarding. Many of these employers run rotational HR programs for recent graduates from Massachusetts schools. Earning a SHRM-CP credential early and building a portfolio through internships at Massachusetts staffing agencies or university career offices strengthens candidacy significantly before applying for a full talent manager title.
Where can I find and apply to talent manager jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to talent manager jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings from employers across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly through the listings.
