I opened my agency in 2026 after spending many years in the finance industry. While I enjoyed finance, I was drawn to agency ownership because it gave me the opportunity to work directly with individuals and families, build lasting relationships, and make a meaningful impact in my community.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska and have been married to my wife, Lydia, for over a decade. We have two young children and enjoy spending time outdoors, running, hiking, participating in local races, and staying active as a family. Community involvement is important to us, and we proudly support organizations that provide scholarships for local students and serve military veterans.
For our team, we offer a 401k, health benefits, and a strong focus on work-life balance. We also pay for all licensing costs up front.
As a growing agency, we're building a team focused on relationships, hard work, and exceptional customer service. I'm looking for someone who is personable, motivated, resilient, and enjoys connecting with people. The ideal candidate is comfortable starting conversations, willing to learn, and excited about helping customers find the right solutions. This is a great opportunity to join a new agency, make a real impact, and grow alongside a team that's building something special.

Team Manager Jobs in South Dakota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a team manager in South Dakota?
The most common path to a team manager role in South Dakota is working up through a frontline or lead position within your target industry, then completing a bachelor's degree in business administration or management, which most larger South Dakota employers prefer. No state-issued license is required specifically for the team manager title, but roles in healthcare-adjacent settings may require compliance with South Dakota Department of Health operational standards. Employers such as Sanford Health and regional financial institutions typically promote from within and post internal pathways.
Which companies hire team managers in South Dakota?
Employers hiring team managers in South Dakota right now include State Farm, Target, and Stay Graceful, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. South Dakota's largest hiring hubs, particularly Sioux Falls, draw on a mix of healthcare systems, regional banks, and national retail chains with deep operational footprints in the state.
Which South Dakota cities have the most team manager jobs?
Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Milbank have the most team manager openings in South Dakota. Sioux Falls leads by a wide margin given its concentration of corporate headquarters, regional financial services operations, and healthcare campuses, while Rapid City supports steady openings tied to tourism, retail, and Black Hills-area distribution, and Aberdeen generates demand through its agricultural supply chain and manufacturing employers.
Are there remote team manager jobs in South Dakota?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since team management typically involves direct oversight of on-site staff. About 0% of team manager openings tied to South Dakota are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to cluster in financial services, insurance operations, and customer service center management where distributed teams are the norm.
How can I get hired as a team manager in South Dakota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is securing a lead or shift supervisor role with a major South Dakota employer and building documented leadership experience before applying for full management positions. Sanford Health, Wells Fargo's Sioux Falls operations, and large retailers operating in the state regularly hire associates into lead roles that serve as the direct feeder for team manager openings. Completing an accredited business or management program at a South Dakota institution, such as the University of South Dakota or South Dakota State University, strengthens your candidacy significantly.
