Technical Sales Representative Jobs in Nebraska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a technical sales representative in Nebraska?
Most Nebraska employers expect a bachelor's degree in engineering, agriculture, or business alongside product-specific training provided on the job. There is no state-issued license required to work as a technical sales representative in Nebraska. Candidates who pursue a Certified Professional Manufacturers' Representative credential or complete manufacturer-led certification programs in their product category stand out with hiring managers at Nebraska's industrial and ag-tech companies.
How much do technical sales representatives make in Nebraska?
Technical sales representatives in Nebraska earn a median of about $90,140 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,250 for the lowest 10% to over $131,030 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire technical sales representatives in Nebraska?
Companies currently hiring technical sales representatives in Nebraska include Google, Bayer, and Olsson, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nebraska's concentration of agricultural equipment manufacturers, utility contractors, and industrial distributors means consistent demand for technical sales talent well beyond the state's largest metros.
Which Nebraska cities have the most technical sales representative jobs?
Omaha, Papillion, and Lincoln account for the most technical sales representative openings in Nebraska. Omaha drives the bulk of listings thanks to its large corporate headquarters, industrial distribution hubs, and proximity to major infrastructure projects, while Lincoln's university ties and manufacturing base sustain a secondary market and Grand Island serves as a regional center for agricultural equipment and food processing sales.
Are there remote technical sales representative jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based roles because technical sales often requires in-person product demos, site visits, and relationship-building with buyers. About 10% of technical sales representative openings tied to Nebraska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to cluster in software-driven product lines such as ag-tech platforms or industrial SaaS rather than physical equipment sales.
How can I get hired as a technical sales representative in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an inside sales or sales development role at a Nebraska manufacturer or distributor, where you learn product lines before moving to field accounts. Companies like Valmont Industries and Nebraska-based agricultural equipment dealers regularly bring on candidates from engineering technician or customer service backgrounds. Completing a product-specific certification from a manufacturer or earning an associate's degree in industrial technology from Southeast Community College or Central Community College strengthens an application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to technical sales representative jobs in Nebraska?
You can find and apply to technical sales representative jobs in Nebraska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nebraska openings across industries including manufacturing, agriculture, and infrastructure. Search for roles that match your product background and experience level, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
