UI Designer Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ui designer in Georgia?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a ui designer in Georgia. Most Georgia employers hire based on a strong portfolio, a degree in interaction design, graphic design, or a related field, and demonstrated tool proficiency in Figma or Adobe XD. Georgia Tech and Savannah College of Art and Design both offer programs that feed directly into the state's design hiring pipeline, and many Georgia employers treat a portfolio of shipped work as equivalent to formal credentials.
How much do UI designers make in Georgia?
UI designers in Georgia earn a median of about $60,250 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $34,860 for the lowest 10% to over $100,110 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ui designers in Georgia?
Employers hiring ui designers in Georgia right now include The Home Depot, FanDuel, and The Coca-Cola Company, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's concentration of fintech firms, healthcare IT companies, and large media and airline brands means sustained demand for product and enterprise-focused ui work across the state.
Which Georgia cities have the most ui designer jobs?
Atlanta, Norcross, and Georgia have the most ui designer openings in Georgia. Atlanta accounts for the majority of listings, driven by its density of technology headquarters, fintech firms, and media companies, while Alpharetta's suburban tech corridor and Savannah's creative economy generate consistent demand outside the main metro.
Are there remote ui designer jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields, because ui design work is largely screen-based and portfolio-driven rather than tied to a physical location. About 78% of ui designer openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how readily the role translates to distributed teams. The parts of the role most likely to stay fully remote are visual design, prototyping, and design system maintenance, while roles requiring frequent stakeholder workshops tend to stay hybrid.
How can I get hired as a ui designer in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior or associate product designer role at a Georgia-based software company or agency, where smaller team sizes often mean faster responsibility. Cox Enterprises, NCR Voyix, and mid-size Atlanta SaaS companies regularly bring on designers from adjacent roles like graphic design, marketing production, or front-end development. A focused portfolio of three to five self-initiated or freelance projects that demonstrate wireframing, user flow thinking, and final UI work carries more weight with Georgia employers than credentials alone.
Where can I find and apply to ui designer jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to ui designer jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly from each listing.
