This role is intentionally and fully focused on building and scaling GHG's accounting product — the systems, processes, team, and outsourced partnerships that produce accurate, reliable accounting data across the portfolio. Portfolio-level finance functions, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis, are owned by the VP of FP&A. The Corporate Controller provides accurate, timely accounting data to support that work but does not own it.

- Review and quality-control outsourced accounting work performed by Metriqe, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GHG standards.
- Support audit preparation, sales tax, and property tax workflows in coordination with the CFO.
Accounting Systems & Integrations
- Own day-to-day oversight of the M3 accounting platform across the portfolio.
- Maintain accounting-side data integrity for Nexus/Birchstreet, Hotel Effectiveness, BILL, and Otelier integrations.
- Lead cross-system troubleshooting where accounting data intersects with operational reporting platforms.

Process Improvement, SOPs & Workflow Design
- Develop, document, and maintain accounting SOPs and standardized workflows across the portfolio.
- Lead Metriqe training, onboarding, and ongoing workflow development to expand the scope and reliability of outsourced accounting support.
- Identify and resolve recurring accounting inefficiencies, building toward a scalable accounting infrastructure as GHG grows.
Team Leadership & Training
- Train, mentor, and develop accounting staff across the portfolio.
- Lead recurring accounting and systems training sessions for property-level accounting personnel.
- Serve as the daily escalation point for the accounting team.
- Support staffing continuity and coverage planning in partnership with the CFO and CEO.
New Property Transitions & Onboarding
- Lead chart of accounts mapping, accounting system implementation, and SOP rollout for newly onboarded properties.
- Lead reporting validation and forecasting setup for new properties, in coordination with the CFO on treasury configuration.
- Coordinate sales tax setup and related ownership requirements for new properties.
- Provide project oversight for the accounting components of property transitions.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Operations, Revenue Management, and property leadership on day-to-day accounting needs and initiatives.
- Provide accurate, timely accounting data to the VP of FP&A and CFO to support forecasting, budgeting, and owner-facing financial reporting.
- Provide documentation and execution support on audit, tax, and fraud-related matters led by the CFO.
What Success Looks Like
- Monthly close is accurate, timely, and increasingly self-sustaining across the portfolio with reduced rework.
- Metriqe is fully trained and absorbing a growing share of routine accounting tasks with minimal correction loops.
- Accounting SOPs are documented, current, and used consistently across the accounting team.
- New property accounting setup is executed smoothly and on schedule for each transition.
- The accounting team is well-trained, has clear escalation paths, and operates with growing independence.
