THE OPPORTUNITY
This Omni Marketing Manager position works out of our Bentonville, AR location in the Nutrition Division. Our nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. Omni Marketing Manager, Walmart & Sam’s Club, is responsible for helping the Abbott brands create demand and retain shoppers by leading the development and management of omnichannel shopper marketing programs. These programs will influence Walmart & Sam’s Club shopper behavior along the path to purchase to drive category/store demand.
This role is also responsible for partnering with Sales to support the development and execution of Trade Marketing promotions/in-store features at Walmart and Sam’s Club. This individual will partner with their Sales counterpart, Shopper Insights teams, Brand Marketing teams, and agencies to assist in the development of the integrated Joint Business Plans. They will ensure strategic alignment between our consumers, shoppers, customers, and the Abbott Brands’ objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
Strategic shopper marketing plans/platforms:
- Partner with sales and define the customers’ strategies and objectives for Abbott’s Adult and Pediatric Categories (including brands: Similac, PediaSure, Pedialyte, Ensure, and Glucerna).
- Understand the Brands’ objectives, strategies, and consumer insights.
- Lead development and alignment of Customer and Brand strategies/objectives to identify key business opportunities.
- Assist in the development of Customer specific business building programs that drive mutual growth.
- Ensure plans are integrated into annual Brand planning as well as Retail Joint Business Planning.
Lead and develop omnichannel solutions tied to key drivers in the path to purchase:
- Partner with Sales and Sales Strategy to support and provide Shopper Marketing activation plans.
- Develop deep understanding of all aspects of retailer digital marketing capabilities.
- Identify new opportunities to evolve strategy to engage with shoppers through digital, social, and ecommerce.
- Display and Search advertising: Develop strategies, lead briefing process and execution with digital media and search to win paid and organic SOV through partnerships with Sales, Brand and Agencies to drive awareness, retention, and conversion. In addition, advise on Display media integration with the brand and sales team.
- Track, analyze and present program effectiveness and ROI against program KPI’s to key stakeholders.
- Optimize plans to continue improving programs and tactics utilized.
Customer Management:
- Develop functional understanding of the brand, customer, and marketplace by cultivating relationships with the key marketing counterparts at the customer and corporate.
- Identify opportunities for Abbott and Walmart Inc. based on a strong understanding of their strategies and shoppers.
- Present marketing plans, specific programs, shopper insights, latest research and best practices to the Customer and Brand teams for their input, support, and alignment.
Agency and Budget:
- Develop creative briefs and help manage the creative process with our Internal creative agency.
- Responsible for managing media and oversight of search agency to ensure program execution and delivering performance standards.
- Manage omni marketing budgets across all brands at Walmart and Sam’s Club.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree required with minimum 7 years of CPG marketing experience on either client or agency side.
- Previous experience in Shopper/Omni Marketing and/or using shopper data and insights.
- Minimum 2 years experience working with National Accounts (i.e. Walmart and/or Sam’s Club).
- Knowledge of Brand Management, Sales and Retail Marketing.
- Demonstrates leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to present and influence others, including Abbott and Customer leaders.
- An understanding of Consumer/Shopper, using analytical skills, insights and industry events.
- Budget ownership.
