Job Details:
Summary: This position plays a key role in supervising and coordinating activities related to the hatching, pulling, vaccinating, and handling of Cobb eggs and chicks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate customer egg packing shipments, maintaining hatchery sanitation, and supervising biosecurity procedures. Key duties include:
- Ensuring the accuracy and compliance of customer egg packing and shipments.
- Serving as a certified Embrex trainer and vaccine mixer.
- Maintaining the quality and effectiveness of hatchery sanitation.
- Overseeing general hatchery maintenance.
- Managing daily farm egg inflow and outflow, along with egg depot responsibilities.
- Ensuring customer order accuracy and quality.
- Supervising biosecurity procedures and maintaining biosecurity standards.
- Performing routine quality procedures and supervising the team to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Interpreting company policies to team members and supporting safety programs and training initiatives.
Requirements
Experience:
College degree or equivalent experience with some related leadership experience preferred.
Accountability:
This is an entry-level professional position responsible for supervising a small group of non-exempt team members (clerical, administrative, and production). Duties include training, monitoring work quality, coaching team members on performance, and ensuring the quality of results produced by the team. Ability to work independently and evaluate alternatives when faced with situations that are not covered by written procedures.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals using available computer programs.
Travel:
Occasional travel, up to four (4) domestic trips per year.
Supervisory Responsibility:
Direct supervision of approximately 10 hourly team members.
Biosecurity:
This position is in a biosecurity environment. The job requires showering before entering the facility, with the potential for multiple showers throughout the workday. The company provides appropriate clothing and footwear. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid exposure to any avian species, including chickens, ducks, and other birds. Adherence to the Company’s Animal Welfare Policy is mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
- Must use safe lifting techniques.
- Regular duties require standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects, reaching, balancing, stooping, and communicating.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The team member is expected to follow all safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
