ABOUT THE ROLE
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 5pm - 2am
Will have Remote/Work from Home flexibility due to Afterhours work schedule.
As a member of the Direct Procurement Team, the afterhours Pricing & Coverage Specialist is responsible for managing overnight spot pricing and carrier coverage to support time-sensitive opportunities outside standard business hours. This role focuses on accurately pricing short lead-time freight, securing carrier capacity for awarded loads, and ensuring effective communication with internal stakeholders and, when necessary, customers.
This position plays a critical role in capturing incremental revenue, maintaining customer responsiveness, and supporting continuous operational coverage.
WHAT THE CANDIDATE WILL DO
- Submit real-time, spot market pricing to Enterprise, Mid-Market and SMB customers through web portals and other forms of communication
- Ensure the successful coverage/service of awarded spot volume
- Develop direct relationships, when appropriate, to help grow existing Uber Freight accounts
- Use internal and external pricing tools and databases to guide pricing decisions
- Expand Uber Freight's customer knowledge by mastering customer networks, learning price points, finding opportunities, and providing timely communication
- Leverage data and analytics to drive informed decisions and evolve strategy
- Take calculated risks to help uncover growth areas
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage
- Experience working closely and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Carrier booking and pricing experience
- Experience operating within customer TMS platform
