Which agriculture companies sponsor Green Card visas in Florida?
Florida's largest agricultural operations are among the more active Green Card sponsors in the state. U.S. Sugar, headquartered in Clewiston, has sponsored permanent residency for agricultural engineers and agronomists. Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Lipman Family Farms, and Consolidated Citrus Limited Partnership have filed PERM labor certifications for skilled roles. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and depends heavily on the specific role, the employer's workforce needs, and whether a qualified U.S. worker is available.
Which cities in Florida have the most agriculture Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Clewiston and Belle Glade in South Florida's Glades region concentrate heavily in sugar cane and vegetable production, making them notable areas for sponsored agricultural roles. Immokalee in Collier County is a center for tomato and vegetable farming. Bartow and Wauchula in Central Florida serve the citrus and phosphate industries. Fort Pierce and the Treasure Coast corridor also see consistent agricultural hiring for both field and technical positions.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Florida?
Roles that typically qualify fall into two main categories. EB-2 sponsorship is generally reserved for positions requiring an advanced degree or exceptional ability, such as agricultural scientists, plant geneticists, and senior agronomists. EB-3 sponsorship covers skilled workers in roles like irrigation engineers, crop production managers, and licensed pesticide applicators, as well as unskilled or semi-skilled positions in harvesting and packing operations. The role must meet prevailing wage requirements and pass PERM labor certification in most cases.
How do I find agriculture Green Card sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking employer-sponsored positions, including agriculture Green Card jobs in Florida. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface roles where employers have a documented history of sponsoring permanent residency. Because Florida's agricultural hiring is geographically concentrated in areas like the Glades and Immokalee, filtering by location within Migrate Mate helps narrow to the most relevant opportunities.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for agriculture Green Card sponsorship?
Florida's agricultural economy is highly seasonal in some sectors, particularly citrus and vegetable harvesting, which can affect the structure of employment offers submitted for PERM labor certification. Employers must demonstrate a permanent, full-time position to support most Green Card pathways. Florida also has active H-2A temporary worker programs in agriculture, and some employers use both H-2A and permanent sponsorship depending on the role's classification. An immigration attorney can help determine which pathway fits a specific offer.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card agriculture jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
