Duties and responsibilities:

- Perform preliminary and detailed engineering design tasks for coastal and water resources engineering projects, including:
- Coastal protection and resilience design (beach nourishment, revetments, seawalls, living shorelines)
- Stormwater management and drainage infrastructure permitting and design
- Stormwater hydrology and hydraulics
- Watershed assessment and planning
- Urban flood risk and floodplain management
- Low impact development / green infrastructure
- Perform 1D and 2D riverine and coastal hydraulic/hydrodynamic modeling
- Perform numerical modeling in support of stormwater, drainage, and coastal improvement projects
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates in support of final bid packages
- Participate in design activities and meetings between project team members, subcontractors, and client managers
- Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, feasibility, cost, construction approaches, and scheduling performance
- Prepare written and graphic reports and make presentations
- Under direction, prepare various draft documents, including reports and technical memoranda

Qualifications
- Masters's degree in Civil, Coastal, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering; required
- 0–2 years of experience with coastal engineering, stormwater, floodplain, or site civil engineering
- Previous internship experience preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Software:
- AutoCAD or MicroStation experience preferred
- HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ADCIRC, SWAN, or other hydraulic/hydrodynamic modeling experience highly desired
- MATLAB experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
- Availability and willingness to travel
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical Requirements:
Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
