Which insurance companies sponsor Green Card visas in Florida?
Florida-based insurers and national carriers with significant Florida operations, including Assurant, Heritage Insurance Holdings, Citizens Property Insurance, and Universal Insurance Holdings, have sponsored Green Cards for specialized roles. Large national firms such as Travelers, Chubb, and Zurich also maintain Florida offices and have established immigration sponsorship programs, typically for actuaries, underwriters, and senior risk analysts with demonstrated long-term value to the organization.
Which cities in Florida have the most insurance Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Jacksonville leads Florida's insurance employment market and hosts several regional and national carrier headquarters, making it the most active city for sponsorship opportunities. Tampa is a strong second, with a concentration of specialty insurers and reinsurance firms. Miami attracts international insurance talent, particularly in roles tied to Latin American markets, risk modeling, and surplus lines. Orlando also has a growing insurance presence, particularly in commercial and health insurance.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Florida?
Roles requiring advanced technical credentials are most commonly sponsored. These include actuaries with Associate or Fellow designations, senior underwriters specializing in property and casualty or surplus lines, catastrophe risk modelers, compliance officers, and data scientists supporting insurance pricing. Florida's high exposure to hurricane and flood risk means catastrophe modeling expertise is particularly valued, and employers are more willing to invest in long-term sponsorship for candidates with those skills.
How do I find insurance Green Card sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international candidates seeking visa-sponsored roles and filters jobs by visa type, state, and industry. You can browse insurance Green Card sponsorship jobs in Florida directly, filtering by city or role type. Because sponsorship details are often not prominently listed in standard job postings, using a platform like Migrate Mate that surfaces sponsorship-confirmed listings saves significant time in your search.
Are there Florida-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in insurance?
Florida's insurance market is heavily shaped by property risk from hurricanes and flooding, which creates persistent demand for specialized underwriters, catastrophe modelers, and risk analysts. This concentrated demand can support stronger sponsorship cases under the EB-2 or EB-3 categories, as employers can more readily demonstrate that qualified U.S. workers are unavailable for highly technical roles. Florida's large population and active surplus lines market also mean commercial insurance roles are consistently in demand relative to many other states.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card insurance jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
