Which retail companies sponsor H-1B visas in Georgia?
Georgia-based retailers and retail-adjacent corporations with a history of H-1B visa sponsorship include Home Depot, headquartered in Atlanta, Carter's, and NCR Voyix, which supports retail technology clients. Larger national retailers with significant Georgia operations, such as Walmart and Target, have also filed H-1B petitions for corporate and technical roles in the state. Sponsorship activity is concentrated in corporate functions, not store-level positions.
Which cities in Georgia have the most retail H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta is by far the most active city for retail H-1B sponsorship in Georgia, driven by the concentration of retail corporate headquarters and technology firms that serve the industry. Alpharetta and Kennesaw, both in the greater Atlanta metro, also see sponsorship activity, particularly for supply chain, IT, and e-commerce roles. Outside the metro area, retail H-1B sponsorship is limited.
What types of retail roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B visas require a specialty occupation, meaning the position must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In retail, roles that commonly meet this standard include data analysts, software engineers supporting e-commerce platforms, supply chain analysts, merchandising analysts, and financial analysts. Store associate and general management roles typically do not qualify because they do not have a specific degree requirement.
How do I find retail H-1B sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters job listings by visa sponsorship type, industry, and state, making it straightforward to browse retail H-1B jobs in Georgia without sifting through listings from employers who don't sponsor. Searching by the retail category in Georgia on Migrate Mate surfaces roles from companies with verified sponsorship activity, saving significant research time compared to general job boards.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for retail H-1B sponsorship?
Georgia does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment, so the process follows standard federal requirements. One practical consideration is that Georgia's retail sector is heavily concentrated in the Atlanta metro, so candidates targeting H-1B sponsorship should focus their search there. Georgia's status as a logistics and distribution hub also means supply chain and operations roles at retail companies can be a viable H-1B pathway in the state.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B retail jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
