Pay Range: $23.00 – $27.30/hour
Location: Shoals Plant
If you’re looking for a role where hard work is recognized, safety comes first, and people genuinely care about the work and each other—this could be the opportunity for you.
We’re hiring Production Operators to join our team at the Shoals plant. This isn’t just a button-pushing kind of job—you’ll be hands-on with equipment, solving problems, and working closely with a solid team to keep production moving. It’s physical, fast-paced work in a manufacturing environment, and it’s important. You’ll be supported from day one with full benefits starting your first day on the job.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Work safely, always. Safety is our top priority, and you’ll be expected to follow all plant safety and housekeeping procedures.
- Operate and monitor production equipment, making adjustments as needed to ensure everything runs smoothly and products meet quality standards.
- Record production data and results accurately so we can track what’s working and what needs attention.
- Pitch in on maintenance tasks using basic tools—our team works together to keep equipment reliable.
- Get involved in safety and improvement initiatives. We want your ideas and engagement, not just your labor.
- Be flexible. Shifts, overtime, and weekend work may be required—this is a 24/7 operation, and production doesn’t pause.
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone who takes safety seriously and is ready to follow plant rules and procedures.
- Willingness to learn how to operate and troubleshoot production equipment—you don’t need to know it all on day one, but you need to be ready to learn.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer skills to enter data and track production performance.
- A good eye for quality and measurements to ensure product specs are being met.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools—hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, putty knives—you get the idea.
- Strong team player with good communication skills. We rely on each other every shift.
- Dependable attendance—this job matters, and we need people we can count on.
This is a role where you’ll work hard, get stronger, and be part of something that matters—alongside people who treat you like part of the team from day one. And if you’re someone who shows up, puts in the effort, and wants to grow—there’s a real path here. Many of our leaders started right in this role.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.

Which chemicals and materials companies sponsor F-1 OPT visas in Indiana?
Indiana-based employers with histories of hiring F-1 OPT candidates in chemicals and materials include Corteva Agriscience in Indianapolis, Eli Lilly for chemical research roles, Wacker Polysilicon in Charleston, and several specialty coatings and plastics manufacturers in the Calumet region. Larger corporations with established HR processes tend to be more experienced with OPT authorization paperwork than smaller regional manufacturers.
Which cities in Indiana have the most chemicals and materials F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis concentrates the most opportunity, anchored by pharmaceutical and agricultural chemistry employers. Lafayette benefits from proximity to Purdue University and draws chemical engineering talent into nearby manufacturing facilities. The northwest corridor near Hammond and East Chicago hosts petrochemical and steel-adjacent materials companies. Terre Haute has a smaller but active industrial chemicals sector tied to its historic manufacturing base.
What types of chemicals and materials roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship?
Roles that commonly qualify include process engineer, research chemist, materials scientist, polymer chemist, quality control chemist, chemical analyst, and formulations scientist. These positions typically require a degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, or a closely related field. STEM OPT extension eligibility is particularly relevant here, as most qualifying roles fall under designated STEM fields, allowing up to 36 months of total OPT work authorization.
How do I find chemicals and materials F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, making it straightforward to find Indiana employers open to F-1 OPT candidates in chemicals and materials. Rather than sorting through general job postings that rarely mention OPT, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from companies with active sponsorship patterns in this industry, saving significant time during a period when your OPT clock is already running.
Are there any Indiana-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in chemicals and materials?
Indiana's chemicals and materials sector is heavily tied to manufacturing and agricultural chemistry, meaning many roles are production- or lab-based rather than purely research-oriented. Some smaller manufacturers may be less familiar with OPT and E-Verify requirements, so candidates often find smoother processes at larger corporations or companies with existing international student hiring programs. Purdue University's strong industry connections in chemical engineering also create a notable pipeline for OPT roles in the Lafayette area.
