Which investment management companies sponsor E-3 visas in Iowa?
Des Moines-based financial firms are the primary source of E-3 sponsorship in Iowa's investment management sector. Principal Financial Group, Voya Financial, and Wells Fargo Advisors have offices in the state and a track record of international hiring. Smaller registered investment advisers and insurance-affiliated asset managers in the Des Moines metro also periodically sponsor E-3 workers for specialist roles, though sponsorship is never guaranteed and varies by role and business need.
Which cities in Iowa have the most investment management E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines is by far the dominant market for investment management E-3 jobs in Iowa. The city hosts the headquarters of several Fortune 500 insurance and financial services companies, which drives demand for portfolio analysts, compliance officers, and fund accountants. Cedar Rapids has a smaller but present financial services sector. Outside those two metros, investment management hiring in Iowa is limited.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field directly related to the role. In investment management, qualifying positions commonly include portfolio analyst, equity research analyst, risk analyst, fund accountant, compliance analyst, and quantitative analyst. Roles where any general business degree satisfies the requirement, such as broad client services positions, may face more scrutiny during the Labor Condition Application and visa review process.
How do I find investment management E-3 sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (E-3), industry (investment and asset management), and state (Iowa) to see roles where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because Des Moines is a concentrated financial hub, setting Iowa as your location filter on Migrate Mate surfaces relevant openings at firms that understand E-3 requirements, saving time you'd otherwise spend vetting employers on sponsorship one by one.
Are there any Iowa-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in investment management?
Iowa does not impose state-level licensing requirements that would uniquely complicate E-3 sponsorship, but investment management roles often require FINRA registrations such as the Series 65 or Series 7. These registrations are tied to employment and can be pursued after starting work, but employers factor in the onboarding timeline. Des Moines employers in this sector tend to be established firms familiar with federal visa processes, which can simplify the Labor Condition Application filing compared to smaller or less experienced sponsors.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 investment management jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
