Which accounting companies sponsor TN visas in Louisiana?
Large employers in Louisiana's energy and healthcare sectors, including ExxonMobil affiliates, Entergy, Ochsner Health, and LCMC Health, have hired accounting professionals under TN status. Regional and national CPA firms operating in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, such as Postlethwaite & Netterville and offices of the Big Four, also sponsor TN accountants for audit, tax, and advisory roles.
Which cities in Louisiana have the most accounting TN sponsorship jobs?
New Orleans has the highest concentration of accounting TN roles, driven by its finance, hospitality, and healthcare industries. Baton Rouge follows closely, anchored by state government contractors, petrochemical companies, and LSU-affiliated employers. Shreveport also has accounting demand tied to regional healthcare networks and manufacturing. Most TN-sponsored positions are with mid-to-large employers headquartered in these three cities.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
Under the TN visa category, qualifying accounting roles include Accountant, Auditor, and related positions that require a baccalaureate or Licenciatura degree in accounting or a directly related field. Roles such as staff accountant, external auditor, internal auditor, tax accountant, and financial reporting analyst commonly qualify. Bookkeeping or clerical finance roles that do not require a relevant degree generally do not meet TN specialty occupation standards.
How do I find accounting TN sponsorship jobs in Louisiana?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find accounting jobs with confirmed TN visa sponsorship in Louisiana. The platform filters specifically for TN-eligible roles, so you're not sorting through listings from employers unfamiliar with the visa category. Search by state and visa type to surface accountant, auditor, and tax roles from Louisiana employers who have sponsored TN workers before.
Are there any state-specific considerations for TN accounting sponsorship in Louisiana?
Louisiana uses the Napoleonic Code as the basis for its civil law system, which makes the state's legal and regulatory accounting environment somewhat distinct from other U.S. states. CPAs practicing in Louisiana must meet Louisiana State Board of Accountancy licensing requirements. TN status itself is federally governed and unaffected by state law, but Canadian or Mexican accountants pursuing CPA licensure in Louisiana should verify that their foreign credentials meet the board's education equivalency standards.
