ROLE SUMMARY
This role sits within Global Sales Management in Global Distribution and accelerates AI outcomes across GD through vision, strategy, and client and field engagement. The Director shapes a focused portfolio of AI capabilities, translates distribution and client needs into clear priorities, and drives adoption through executive influence, storytelling, and cross functional partnership. The role demands someone who can lead enterprise-level conversations with senior stakeholders, bridge business and technology, and build momentum across complex matrixed organizations as we deliver key capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Product Vision & Strategy Development:
- Develop and articulate a strategic vision for scalable AI products across Global Distribution
- Lead end-to-end AI product lifecycle from ideation to production
- Define AI roadmaps, manage development cycles, and identify patterns across GD use cases to prioritize highest-impact opportunities
- Advocate for ethical and responsible AI use
Thought Leadership & Enterprise Engagement:
- Serve as a recognized thought leader on AI within Global Distribution and across the broader firm
- Lead enterprise-level conversations with senior distribution leadership, connecting dots across shared needs in GD to drive coordinated, scalable solutions
- Bring urgency and decisiveness to prioritization and execution, moving quickly from insight to action
- Stay ahead of emerging generative AI technologies and translate market developments into strategic opportunity
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Lead the Global Distribution AI Operating Council and input into GD AI Steer Co
- Lead GD Monthly Demo
- Communicate product updates and business impact to senior leadership with clarity and conviction
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify AI use cases and quantify value
- Serve as liaison between business, technology, and external partners
- Collaborate with product vendors on roadmap alignment
Agile Project Management:
- Lead and manage a team of four direct reports, fostering ownership, rigor, and a high-performance culture
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and scope definition
- Lead Friends & Family testing for AI products before production rollout
- Identify and mitigate risks in AI product development
Achieves Business Results:
- Design and monitor success metrics for AI solutions
- Benchmark performance and recommend optimizations
- Build business cases and support funding strategies
- Contribute to talent development and AI capability building across GD
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
- 10+ years of relevant work experience, including roles spanning product management, technology, and financial services AND
- 3+ years of people management experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Solid understanding of generative AI, large language models, and NLP, with the ability to engage credibly with both technical teams and business stakeholders
- Familiarity with AI product development practices including RAG architectures, agentic workflows, and responsible AI frameworks
- Working knowledge of asset management or wealth management, with depth in distribution, sales, or client-facing functions
- Proven ability to develop and communicate a compelling product vision aligned with broader business strategy
- Demonstrated thought leadership in AI, with experience influencing senior executives and shaping organizational direction
- Ability to set priorities with urgency and clarity in fast-moving, ambiguous environments while keeping teams focused
- Track record of connecting the dots across complex organizations, identifying shared needs, and driving toward scalable common solutions
- Exceptional ability to lead enterprise-level conversations with senior distribution leadership, translating technical concepts into business value
- Experience building trust and credibility across a matrixed organization spanning technology, business, compliance, and external partners
- Deep experience owning the full product lifecycle from ideation through production, including roadmap management and stakeholder alignment
- Proven ability to ship AI products in complex enterprise environments, balancing speed with quality and risk management
- High ownership mindset with a bias for action, comfortable operating with ambiguity and maintaining momentum without waiting for perfect information

$178,000.00 - $304,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$196,000.00 - $335,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$223,000.00 - $350,000.00 for the location of: New York, California
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
