Which agriculture companies sponsor visas in Massachusetts?
Ocean Spray Cranberries leads agricultural sponsorship in Massachusetts, along with UMass Extension research programs and emerging vertical farming companies in Greater Boston. Aquaculture operations along the coast and specialty crop farms in the Connecticut River Valley also provide sponsorship opportunities, particularly for roles requiring specialized knowledge in sustainable farming practices and agricultural technology.
How to find agriculture visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?

Target employers involved in sustainable agriculture initiatives and aquaculture operations, which often need specialized international expertise.
Which visa types are most common for agriculture roles in Massachusetts?
H-2A visas dominate seasonal agricultural work, especially in cranberry harvesting and specialty crop production. TN visas work well for Canadian and Mexican agricultural scientists and researchers working with university programs. H-1B visas apply to specialized roles in agricultural technology companies and research institutions requiring advanced degrees in agricultural engineering or biotechnology.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most agriculture sponsorship jobs?

Massachusetts agricultural wages must meet both federal H-2A Adverse Effect Wage Rates and state minimum wage requirements, whichever is higher. Research positions at universities typically command higher wages than field work. Specialized roles in agricultural technology and sustainable farming often qualify for prevailing wages in professional categories rather than agricultural worker classifications.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored agriculture jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
