Which electronics companies in Massachusetts sponsor the most work visas?
Raytheon Technologies leads Massachusetts electronics visa sponsorship, followed by Analog Devices, Bose Corporation, and MKS Instruments. Defense contractors like General Dynamics and L3Harris also sponsor significant numbers of H-1B visas for radar engineers, signal processing specialists, and embedded systems developers. Semiconductor companies in the Route 128 area consistently file LCAs for hardware engineers.
How to find electronics visa sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Use Migrate Mate to search electronics positions from verified visa sponsors in Massachusetts. The platform filters specifically for companies with proven H-1B filing history in electronics roles. Focus on positions in Boston, Cambridge, and the Route 128 corridor where defense contractors and semiconductor firms actively recruit international engineers for specialized technical roles.
Which visa types are most common for electronics jobs in Massachusetts?
H-1B visas dominate Massachusetts electronics hiring, particularly for RF engineers, embedded software developers, and hardware designers. O-1 visas are occasionally used for senior engineers with exceptional expertise in defense systems or semiconductor design. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican engineers, while L-1 visas support transfers within multinational electronics companies like Raytheon.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most electronics visa sponsorship opportunities?
Cambridge and Boston offer the highest concentration of electronics visa sponsorship jobs, driven by defense contractors and research institutions. Waltham and Norwood along Route 128 host numerous semiconductor and instrumentation companies. Andover, Burlington, and Marlborough also provide significant opportunities, particularly with companies like Raytheon, MKS Instruments, and smaller defense technology firms.
What prevailing wage requirements apply to electronics jobs in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts electronics positions typically require Level 2 or Level 3 prevailing wages due to the specialized nature of defense and semiconductor work. Boston metro area wages are generally 15-20% higher than national averages for equivalent roles. Engineers with security clearance eligibility or experience in RF systems, radar technology, or semiconductor fabrication often qualify for higher wage levels.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored electronics jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
