Responsibilities
- Assist in all aspects of month-end and year-end closing process, including reviewing general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, importing data batches from ERP system
- Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements, petty cash, and intercompany general ledger accounts verifying accuracy of data, and identifying, reporting, and resolving any discrepancies
- Support our international plants in North America by working with 3rd party firms that support our accounting and operation functions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accuracy of financial information
- Support Billing Department by ensuring accuracy and completeness of invoicing daily shipments for multiple plant locations
- Assist in the preparation of Weekly Accounting and Management Reports, as needed
- Assist in planning and implementation of operating procedures that will improve process efficiency and the control environment
- Participation in ad-hoc financial and accounting projects as needed
- Participate in the annual audit process
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required with at least one year of relevant work experience (internship(s) / Co-Op experience will be considered)
- Familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Self-starter with good verbal and written communication skills; ability to multi-task and attention to detail is essential
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required and other Microsoft Office Suite Applications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains Software a plus
