Which hospitality companies sponsor H-1B visas in Nebraska?
Large hotel management companies and brands with Nebraska properties have the most established H-1B sponsorship track records. Marriott-affiliated properties, Hilton managed hotels, and IHG-branded locations in Omaha are among the most active. National hospitality management firms overseeing multiple Nebraska properties are generally better positioned to sponsor than independently owned hotels, which often lack dedicated HR infrastructure for immigration filings.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most hospitality H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the largest share of hospitality H-1B sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its convention center, airport hotel corridor, and corporate travel demand. Lincoln, home to the University of Nebraska and a steady events calendar, is the second most active market. Smaller markets like Kearney and Grand Island have limited H-1B sponsorship activity in hospitality, as properties there tend to be independently owned or franchised without corporate sponsorship capacity.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in hospitality requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In Nebraska's hospitality sector, roles that most commonly meet this standard include hotel general managers with business or hospitality management degrees, revenue managers, food and beverage directors, and corporate sales managers. Front-of-house and hourly service roles generally do not qualify under H-1B specialty occupation criteria.
How do I find hospitality H-1B sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters hospitality H-1B sponsorship jobs in Nebraska by visa type and industry, so you're not sorting through listings that don't apply to your situation. Searching on Migrate Mate shows you Nebraska hospitality employers that have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship, which narrows your outreach to companies already familiar with the process rather than those encountering it for the first time.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Nebraska's hospitality industry?
Nebraska does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal H-1B rules, but the hospitality market here is more seasonally driven than coastal cities, which can affect hiring timelines. Employers tied to university calendars in Lincoln or large conventions in Omaha may time their management hiring around predictable demand peaks. Because the Nebraska hospitality market is smaller overall, H-1B sponsorship opportunities are less frequent than in major metro areas, making early and targeted outreach to qualifying employers especially important.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B hospitality jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
