Which distribution & wholesale companies sponsor H-1B visas in Nebraska?
Nebraska's distribution and wholesale sector includes companies that have filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for specialized positions. Omaha-based operations tied to food distribution, industrial supply, and agricultural wholesale have historically supported H-1B workers. Large national distributors with Nebraska facilities, such as Sysco, U.S. Foods, and Fastenal, have filed LCAs for roles requiring specific technical or analytical expertise. Sponsorship decisions depend on the role and the employer's internal policy.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most distribution & wholesale H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Omaha leads Nebraska for distribution and wholesale H-1B sponsorship activity, driven by its position as a regional logistics hub with strong road, rail, and air freight infrastructure. Lincoln supports a smaller but growing number of supply chain and wholesale roles. Grand Island and Kearney also see distribution activity tied to agricultural and food processing supply chains, though H-1B sponsorship at those locations is less common than in the Omaha metro area.
How do I find distribution & wholesale H-1B sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters distribution and wholesale roles in Nebraska by verified H-1B sponsorship history, drawing on DOL Labor Condition Application data. You can search by job function, such as supply chain analyst or logistics manager, and see which Nebraska employers have actively filed H-1B petitions. This is more reliable than manually reviewing OFLC public disclosure files, which require significant sorting to extract employer-level patterns.
What types of distribution & wholesale roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Nebraska?
H-1B sponsorship in distribution and wholesale is generally limited to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Qualifying positions in this sector commonly include supply chain analysts, logistics technology specialists, procurement managers, demand planning analysts, and distribution operations engineers. Roles like warehouse associate, forklift operator, or general sales representative typically do not meet the specialty occupation threshold required by USCIS for H-1B eligibility.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Nebraska's distribution sector?
Nebraska does not have state-level visa sponsorship requirements, so H-1B eligibility is governed entirely by federal USCIS standards. However, Nebraska's distribution sector is heavily tied to agricultural and food supply chains, which means many roles are seasonal or operations-focused and may not meet the specialty occupation standard. Employers in Omaha's logistics corridor tend to have more established HR infrastructure for sponsorship than smaller regional distributors, making metro-area employers a more practical starting point for H-1B candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B distribution & wholesale jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
