Which investment management companies in Nebraska sponsor H-1B visas?
The most consistent H-1B visa sponsors in Nebraska's investment management sector include Charles Schwab (which absorbed TD Ameritrade's Omaha operations), Fidelity & Guaranty Life, and Conestoga Capital Advisors. Larger regional banks with asset management divisions, such as First National Bank of Omaha, have also filed H-1B petitions for investment-related roles. Sponsorship activity is concentrated among firms large enough to maintain in-house legal or HR resources to manage the petition process.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the overwhelming majority of investment management H-1B sponsorship activity in Nebraska. The city hosts the state's largest financial institutions, insurance-linked asset managers, and brokerage operations. Lincoln has a smaller but active financial services sector, with some RIA and compliance roles tied to state-chartered entities. Outside these two cities, H-1B sponsorship opportunities in investment management are limited.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Nebraska?
Roles that consistently qualify as specialty occupations in investment management include portfolio analyst, quantitative analyst, risk analyst, financial analyst, compliance officer, and investment research associate. These positions typically require at minimum a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field. Generalist roles where no specific degree field is required are less likely to meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard and may face additional USCIS scrutiny.
How do I find investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface investment management roles in Nebraska where employers have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship. This saves time compared to manually screening job postings that don't disclose sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate also provides context on employer sponsorship patterns, which is particularly useful in a smaller market like Nebraska where active sponsors are a defined set of firms.
Are there any Nebraska-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in investment management?
Nebraska is not a high-density financial hub, which means the pool of H-1B-sponsoring investment management firms is smaller than in states like New York or California. However, Omaha's established insurance and financial services industry means several firms have long-standing experience with the H-1B process. The state has no additional filing requirements beyond federal H-1B rules. Candidates should be aware that smaller RIAs in Nebraska may lack the infrastructure to sponsor visas, making larger institutional employers the more reliable targets.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B investment management jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
