Search Hospitality Jobs in New YorkHospitality CPT Sponsorship Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
Which hospitality companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in New York?
Large hotel groups with significant New York footprints, including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG, regularly host F-1 CPT interns in operations, food and beverage, and guest services roles. Restaurant groups, catering companies, and convention venue operators such as those managing the Javits Center also participate. Sponsorship patterns vary by property and season, so confirming CPT authorization with your DSO before accepting any offer is essential.
Which cities in New York have the most hospitality F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan concentrates the highest volume of F-1 CPT hospitality opportunities, driven by its density of luxury hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, and major event venues. Brooklyn has grown as a secondary market, particularly in boutique hotels and food and beverage concepts. Upstate cities like Albany and Buffalo offer limited but real opportunities tied to university-area hospitality and regional convention business.
What types of hospitality roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Roles that connect directly to a student's degree program are the qualifying standard for CPT. In hospitality, that typically includes front office operations, event coordination, food and beverage management, revenue management, and hotel marketing internships. Purely manual service roles without a curricular connection are less likely to qualify. Your DSO and academic advisor determine eligibility based on how the position relates to your enrolled program.
How do I find hospitality F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate lists hospitality positions in New York filtered specifically for F-1 CPT eligibility, which removes the guesswork of identifying which employers can support CPT authorization. Browsing by industry and state on Migrate Mate surfaces hotel, restaurant, and events roles where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Cross-referencing any listing with your DSO before applying ensures the role meets your program's CPT requirements.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for F-1 CPT sponsorship in New York hospitality?
New York's hospitality industry is highly seasonal, with demand peaking around summer, the holiday period, and major trade events at the Javits Center. CPT authorization must be obtained before the work start date, so students should initiate the DSO process several weeks ahead. New York also has specific labor law provisions around tipped employees and working hours for students, which employers and students should both understand before a placement begins.
