Which consulting companies sponsor F-1 CPT visas in New York?
Large management and professional services firms are the most active CPT sponsors in New York. Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, Accenture, McKinsey, BCG, and Bain all have New York offices that regularly bring on F-1 students through CPT-eligible internship programs. Boutique strategy and technology consulting firms in Manhattan also participate, though their CPT infrastructure varies. Confirming CPT eligibility directly with each employer's HR team before accepting an offer is essential.
Which cities in New York have the most consulting F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan is by far the dominant hub, hosting the New York headquarters or major offices of virtually every large consulting firm operating in the state. White Plains and Melville on Long Island have smaller concentrations tied to regional clients in healthcare and financial services. Albany sees occasional consulting CPT activity linked to government and public sector engagements, but the overwhelming majority of opportunities are in New York City.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship?
Roles that align directly with a student's degree program are the qualifying standard for CPT. In consulting, this commonly includes management consulting analyst internships, technology consulting roles, strategy and operations positions, and financial advisory internships. Data analytics and human capital consulting roles at firms serving New York's finance and media sectors also frequently qualify. Your academic advisor and Designated School Official determine CPT eligibility based on how the role relates to your field of study.
How do I find consulting F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students searching for visa-friendly roles and filters consulting F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in New York directly, saving time you'd otherwise spend researching each employer's sponsorship policies. Beyond the platform, many large New York consulting firms post CPT-eligible internships through their university recruiting programs in the fall and spring recruiting cycles, so engaging your school's career center alongside Migrate Mate gives you the broadest coverage.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in consulting?
New York consulting internships often run on structured timelines tied to university semesters, which aligns well with CPT authorization periods. Because many New York consulting firms serve highly regulated industries like banking and healthcare, background check and onboarding requirements can be more extensive than at firms in other states, so starting the CPT authorization process with your DSO as early as possible is important. New York City's cost of living also means stipend structures for CPT internships vary considerably across firms.
