Which investment management companies sponsor E-3 visas in North Carolina?
Charlotte-based financial institutions are the most active E-3 visa sponsors in North Carolina's investment management sector. Wells Fargo Asset Management, Truist Wealth, and Bank of America's investment divisions have filed LCAs for finance roles in the state. Smaller registered investment advisors and fund administrators in the Research Triangle area also sponsor E-3 workers, though less frequently than the major bank-affiliated asset managers.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most investment management E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte is by far the most active city for investment management E-3 jobs in North Carolina, driven by its concentration of major bank holding companies and wealth management firms. Raleigh and Durham in the Research Triangle have a smaller but growing number of opportunities, particularly in quantitative finance and fintech-adjacent asset management roles. Smaller markets like Greensboro have limited investment management sponsorship activity.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for E-3 sponsorship must meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning a bachelor's degree in a specific field is normally required for entry. In investment management, this includes portfolio analyst, equity research associate, risk analyst, compliance officer, and quantitative analyst positions. General financial advisor roles or those where any business degree qualifies regardless of field can be harder to support as specialty occupations.
How do I find investment management E-3 sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (E-3), industry (Investment and Asset Management), and state (North Carolina) to see roles from employers who have a demonstrated history of sponsoring work visas. This saves significant time compared to manually researching which Charlotte or Raleigh firms are open to E-3 candidates before applying.
Are there any state-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in North Carolina's investment management sector?
North Carolina does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal E-3 obligations. However, investment management roles in Charlotte often require FINRA licensing such as the Series 65 or Series 7, which Australian candidates may need to obtain after starting work. Employers in North Carolina's heavily regulated banking sector can be more familiar with visa sponsorship processes than firms in less finance-concentrated states, which can streamline the LCA and documentation process.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 investment management jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
