Which e-commerce companies sponsor H-1B visas in North Carolina?
Several major employers with a significant North Carolina presence have filed H-1B visa petitions for e-commerce and related roles. Lowe's Companies, headquartered in Mooresville, has sponsored H-1B workers across technology and digital commerce functions. VF Corporation, based in Denver but with NC operations, and various fulfillment-focused logistics firms in the Charlotte and Raleigh areas also appear in DOL disclosure data as repeat H-1B sponsors.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most e-commerce H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Raleigh and the broader Research Triangle region, which includes Durham and Chapel Hill, represent the densest concentration of sponsored e-commerce and tech roles in the state. Charlotte follows closely, driven by its financial technology crossover and retail headquarters presence. Both metros host university research institutions that attract employers comfortable with the H-1B process, making them the most active cities for sponsored digital commerce hiring.
What types of e-commerce roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific, directly related field. In e-commerce, roles that commonly meet this threshold include software engineers, data scientists, UX designers, digital marketing analysts, product managers, and supply chain systems analysts. Generalist roles or positions where any degree field is accepted are less likely to qualify under USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How do I find e-commerce H-1B sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface e-commerce roles in North Carolina where employers have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship. Rather than sorting through thousands of unfiltered listings, Migrate Mate focuses the results on positions that are realistically open to sponsored candidates, saving significant time during a job search where visa eligibility matters from the first application.
Are there any North Carolina-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in e-commerce?
North Carolina does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment, but employers must still file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and comply with prevailing wage requirements for the specific metropolitan area. In the Research Triangle, prevailing wages for technical e-commerce roles are benchmarked against a competitive tech market, which can affect what smaller employers are willing to sponsor. North Carolina's growing number of e-commerce startups may have less prior experience with the H-1B process compared to established multinationals.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B e-commerce jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
