Which consulting companies sponsor H-1B visas in North Carolina?
Large professional services firms with established North Carolina offices have consistent H-1B visa sponsorship histories, including Deloitte, Accenture, IBM, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Cognizant. Boutique management and technology consulting firms headquartered in the Research Triangle and Charlotte also file H-1B petitions regularly. Checking Department of Labor LCA disclosure data by employer name and worksite state is the most reliable way to confirm a specific firm's sponsorship record.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most consulting H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Raleigh and Durham anchor the Research Triangle, which hosts the highest concentration of consulting H-1B roles in the state, driven by proximity to major technology companies, research universities, and government contractors. Charlotte is the second major hub, particularly for financial consulting and management advisory firms serving its large banking and insurance sector. Smaller volumes of consulting sponsorship roles appear in Greensboro and Winston-Salem.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field directly related to the position. In consulting, this commonly includes management consultants with business or economics degrees, technology consultants with computer science or engineering backgrounds, and financial advisory roles requiring finance or accounting credentials. Generalist roles where any degree field is accepted are less likely to meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I find consulting H-1B sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship type, so you can search for consulting H-1B roles in North Carolina without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform aggregates verified sponsoring employers, allowing you to focus on firms in Raleigh, Charlotte, and the broader Research Triangle that have active consulting openings and a track record of filing H-1B petitions.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-1B consulting jobs in North Carolina?
North Carolina does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment beyond standard federal requirements, but consulting roles here often involve client-site work across multiple locations. When a consultant works at a third-party client site rather than the petitioning employer's listed worksite, the employer may need to file an amended H-1B petition or ensure the Labor Condition Application covers the relevant worksite, which is a compliance detail worth confirming with the sponsoring employer.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B consulting jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
