Which investment management companies sponsor H-1B visas in Oklahoma?
BOK Financial and its subsidiary BOKF are among the most active institutional employers in Oklahoma's investment management sector with documented H-1B visa sponsorship history. Larger national asset managers with Oklahoma offices, such as Charles Schwab and Fidelity, have also sponsored H-1B workers in financial roles. Smaller registered investment advisors and wealth management boutiques sponsor less frequently, as the process requires dedicated HR and legal resources.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the large majority of investment management H-1B sponsorship activity in the state. Oklahoma City, as the state capital and primary financial hub, hosts the headquarters of several major financial institutions. Tulsa has a strong concentration of energy-related investment and asset management firms tied to the oil and gas sector, making both cities the most productive areas to target for H-1B-sponsored roles.
What types of investment management roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify include financial analyst, portfolio analyst, investment research analyst, quantitative analyst, risk analyst, and compliance analyst positions. These roles require a bachelor's degree or higher in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field, which satisfies the H-1B specialty occupation requirement. Generalist roles where no specific degree field is required are less likely to qualify, so job title and stated degree requirements in the offer letter matter significantly.
How do I find investment management H-1B sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking H-1B sponsorship and lets you filter investment management jobs by state, including Oklahoma. Rather than sorting through postings that rarely mention sponsorship, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from employers with documented H-1B filing histories in asset and wealth management. Focusing your search on Oklahoma City and Tulsa within the platform gives you the most relevant results for this specific market.
Are there any state-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Oklahoma's investment management sector?
Oklahoma's investment management market is heavily influenced by the energy industry, so candidates with experience in energy finance, commodities analysis, or natural resources portfolio management have a practical advantage with local employers. The overall number of H-1B filings in Oklahoma is lower than in major coastal markets, meaning competition for available sponsored roles can be intense. Candidates should also confirm that any employer is registered with the SEC or relevant regulators, as this correlates with the organizational capacity to manage H-1B petitions.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B investment management jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
